Well shit. I really want one. Not sure if it makes much sense in my 1.93 mount since I wouldn't be using it for anything close-range, but I do have a spare Docter sitting around

This thread has been good for my life and bad for my wallet.

I love mine (Wilcox setup on NSW). Eye box is definitely not the greatest when you compare it to a Razor or Kahles K16i but its light and super crisp.

It’s sweet from a form factor standpoint but it’s not the most forgiving. I ultimately moved to the x32 and finally the x42 which don’t demand such critical head placement at higher magnification.

x24 in a 1.93 mount would be an exercise in stupidity.

x24 requires rock solid cheekweld.

Agreed, the NF 2.5-10x24 is a great optic if you understand it.

I tried it on a SCAR 17 and it's usable but at high mag I would always lose the sight picture after the shot.

Moved it to my Noveske 'Mini Recce' 14.5" and it is AWESOME.  It sits in a standard Geissele mount with a RMR on top in a Reptilia mount and offset KAC irons.

It's a completely different optic that the Razor 1-6.

I'm back boys. I think I fit in here again, right?

Once LaRue gets back to me about the Atlas BT46 w/ their QD mount that I ordered over a week ago, this thing will be complete.

So I took apart the Grendel to switch out the RAS to the PRI tube, and the screws are too long for the AEM5 to go inside the handguard.  Did you guys get shorter screws or just grind them down?

Mine came with short ones. Though one looked longer so I moved it to the back of the rail slot.

I think you can just get some shorties at the hardware store of yours are too long.

Is your Grendel 13.1? I'm interested to see a 13.1 mini H.

Yeah is around 13”.  Hopefully I can find some short screws and put it together.  I mocked up the RAS with a Triarc 11.5 and NF 2.5-10.  First build in the new house.  I have a NX8 on the way that may go on it, or the Steiner.  The NXS will probably end up on the Grendel.

More like a mini NSW RECCE than mod 1 but the one I built with spikes tapered GB was just under 13.1", don’t remember exactly what it was. Keep in mind if you’re using the spikes GB you will need to shave a hair off the end of the rail for the can to fit.

Agreed! Thinking of taking the mini H to 13.1ish on a match barrel with mid length gas and spikes block like Roth did.

Now that I've got the NX8 and 550m to shoot at I think the minI H deserves a match barrel.

Before I decided to just get a modern can I was really wanting to build something with that Spikes gas block. Just seems like a genius idea.

My midlength Grendel setup with the Spike's tapered gas block required .05" off the front of the RAS.  D. Wilson put it together for me.

NX8 came in yesterday and got around to mounting it tonight.  I didn’t like the first one I had, but I think I’ve got the parallax and scope position just right this go around.  Not sure if I’ll keep the RAS on this upper, or put it back on the Grendel and try to find either a BCM QRF or URX 2 for this.  And for what it’s worth, it’s GSD approved.
