Wow this BA barrel is quality. I feel bad not building a mod 1 out of it. Haven't shot it yet but I can certainly say it was beautifully machined.  6 turns with the long collar!

Small update if anyone cares. Progress.

Neat.

I called Ron yesterday to see if he could make an AEM5 to M4 barrel collar for the SIG M400 barrel, as the SIG barrel is a bit bigger than an M4 barrel (by 0.020") and the collar I got from ADCO won't work. I asked Ron how much, and he told me to just send him my address and measurements. He didn't want me to have to pay for another one. Great guy.

Ok off to fix my collar issue....

Edit: THANK YOU MAP GAS . either WOA screwed up or badger did. Im going to have to take a LOT of material off to get this to slide on like it should.

Edit: im not comfortable having this collar support a suppressor. Attempting to open up the inside has just deteriorated the shoulder of the collar that the barrel contacts. Short collar is going back on. What a collossal waste of $50. I will machine my own or buy a used one. Fucking pissed.

I used a Badger gas manifold and had fitment issues. Some of y'all might remember my posts from way back in the day, trying to sort it out. I ended up using sandpaper on the inside of the manifold and barrel to remove enough material to get it mounted.

Why are we shitting on the long collars that someone whent out of their way to get for us?  Like what's been stated- there are so many different manufacturers that make mk 12 parts (barrels and gas blocks) that things like this are going to happen. You shouldn't have forced the collar on really and that's all there is to it. For instance. This long collar fit absolutely perfect on that new BA barrel. Hopefully everyone learned a little something.

I installed the one I picked up for LC on every barrel I own, (block II aside) and the only ones that were "too" tight were the ones that were painted.

Anybody that's not happy with theirs is more than welcome to send it to me.

Agreed. Only one issue with them so far, which says to me that's the barrel, not the collar.

HB, do you mean .004" though total for the bore (.002" each side) or are you say .008" actually? As for recutting the inner large bore are you saying it is too small for the barrel OD?

Badger gas block fitment issues have gone back for years.

They're the only company I've heard of that people have a tougher time getting installed.

I've heard bad shit about badger as well. I think the old tac latch is about all I'd be ok with running from them, although there are much better options out nowadays.

I'm careful to not over-tighten mine because I don't want it to get partially seized.
