Suppose it could, never seen one however.  Bottom rail is plastic and can flex when pressure is applied to the VFG.

I missed the range and show as I was out flying a resupply MH-53 bird.  Came back in all drenched in hydraulic fluid and ran into Steve Austin on the stair case of the palace.

GI answer, the cheapest of the two and take extra money for beer!

Both work great successfully around the globe, just depends on what colors are available locally.

I use Rustoleum Camo Sand or Khaki, Deep forest green, and their Earth brown colors. Whatever you do, avoid their "Army Green". Deep Forest Green matches O.D. green. "Army green" matches infant diarrhea.

Right? Its that color the crazy old hag down the street that talks to herself and throws twigs at kids riding their bikes on the sidewalk, would paint her house.
The color only a mental patient could love. Side note- my local crazy neighborhood hag got the fire dept called because she decided to throw her type writer in the fireplace and light it on fire. Same one that tried to lure me inside to wash my boxers (that I was wearing) for me. (true stories)

ETA same one that told my next door neighbor she hopes she rots in hell (in front of her little kids) for driving a F150 that pollutes the world. (Old hag drives an expedition with same motor in it)

I will say the sand is a better choice than Khaki if going for an Iraq/Afghan sand colored scheme. But Khaki as a base matches better for most of the dirt here in the states. Its a darker tan obviously, sand being more of the MRAP color, but maybe a tad lighter.

I have both and just pick whichever depending on my mood or the build itself.

Krylon Khaki is better than Rustoleum Khaki, IMO. The Rustoleum is way too light and more of a light tan. The Krylon Khaki is darker.

Yup. If you spray it on hot parts and leave some heat on it while it cures, it's very tough.

Difference in Nomenclature is depends on the branch of service.  Navy reclassifies the M16/M4 receiver to Mk18 Mod 0/1 status on the property books.  Army still carries it by what is still marked on the receiver M16/M4 etc. and just designates uppers seperately.  Most do carry serial numbers on the uppers now.  10000 series designating 10.3" uppers and 14000 for 14.5" uppers.  Course those are only from Crane as there are still thousands of un serial numbered uppers out there in service.

I have seen some units using BE Meyers 249 flash hiders years ago,  can't recall what they were mounted to but I'm thinking 11" Commandos. I worked mostly with SEALs and Force Recon.  I worked with Delta a few times, they may have had them.  I remember some SEALs expressing a desire for them but they needed NT4 compatibility, and used MK18 BLK 0/1 uppers with NT4 fhs and suppressor.  I don't recall seeing any Teams with be Meyers 249f on MK18s.  I have a pic holding a M18 but I think it's blk1 rather than 0? I posted some new ones since Photobucket suicided either in this thread or M4 sopmod thread in response to a detail question of the era.

Thanks. Im def gonna keep it around for a build, just not sure what yet. The nt4 will be going back on my b1 along with the m2. It's been goin back and forth from snowing to raining to ice slushy sh#t here where I live so I get bored and start swapping things out. Is BEM going to actually make an nt4 compatible fh, or was it abandoned? There were prototypes available for a bit, but with the warning they gave not to mount it i almost wonder if they were unsuccessful or gave up? Or possibly still to be released? I know I've read that people were successfully shooting the prototypes mounted up.
