Simply for recreation and in preparation for any kind of SHTF/WROL/Zombie apocalypse situation we may find ourselves in. I recognize that my training is likely to end up just being a hobby and my gear for the most part is just toys aiding in my hobby. For that reason it was my intention in creating my rig to have one grab and go rig that supports my primary and secondary systems as well as protection. It works pretty well for its intended purpose and I am happy with it.

Now, unlike the previously mentioned poster, I fully recognize having a war belt set up is far more tactically efficient than what I'm running. I'm knowingly compromising that efficiency with PC rig for overall convenience. I would like to try out a war belt set up and see if I feel it is worth incorporating for me. I'm fortunate enough to have a buddy lend me an extra 5.11 brokos. What I need is the inner belt. I recognize that if I was going to run this belt for real that I would want a cobra or some other high end inner belt. What I want to do is do this little trial run as inexpensively as possible. What is the least expensive option I could pick up for this? Some potentially useful information is that at this point I don't ever intend for my belt to get all that heavy (that might change in the future, but at that point I would have already upgraded to a better inner belt) and it won't be run very hard. Possibly 1-2 courses a year, and at the range doing basic training drills. Will any gun belt do? Does it need to have some specific quality that a standard gun belt does not typically have? Would a blackhawk CQB riggers belt or something like it get the job done for the interim?

Thanks for taking the time to read all of that. I apologize for the length but I wanted to be thorough and let you guy know exactly what I need and how I intend to use it. TIA for any help.

What size belt do you need?  If it fits I have a Ranger Green that may fit you, cover the postage and its yours, provided its your size.

I'm shopping for my first such battle belt and I like the Emdom look. What pouches fit on it? Any regular molle?

All regular MOLLE. I have the Emdom belt, and so far (work in progress) I have a HSGI Taco, a Tactical Tailor dump pouch and HSGI Bleeder kit on there, and they work good. The only issue is that the BOK is taller, and therefore slides up about 1/4" when being pulled on. Going to modify the straps a little to help that issue. It is a really good belt for the price.

Man that is an awesome gesture.  Thank you very much for the offer but I took the advice of the gentleman who replied to me previously and picked up a cheap surplus duty belt.  I ended up deciding for the time being that I'm going to accept the tactical inefficiencies of my current set up and run the PC as my first and only line. I think there is a good chance of that changing in the next year or two, but for now I'm sticking with it.  Thank you again for the nice gesture!

Edit:  Nice looking pup in the post above me!

My only question is about the 5th mag at your 5:00 on the belt. Already have 4 on there, and that one is going to be a completely different move to commit to muscle memory. Of course, I don't use a warbelt, so take this suggestion with a grain of salt.

Nice setup. How's the TT belt working for ya?

With the available room on there, why not ditch the drop leg and mount the pistol directly to the belt, either as-is or with a drop mount?

Holy magazines batman, is your belt not heavier with an extra 4-5 lbs of just ammo slung on there?

I'm guessing it's for reloads when shooting weak handed.

5 mags on the belt, seems ok with me. the double stacked mags on my left side are nice when wearing a PC. if i were to just run the belt i would probably drop those two extra mags.

We used to carry all kinds of crap on the old LBE: 6-12 mags, two canteens with cups, four grenades, knife, butt pack with all kinds of shit. I see these "war belts" as updated, more comfortable LBEs.

Spending over 25+hrs at a house course last weekend, i have to say I am very impressed with the Emdom set up. Did not miss the Brokos whatsoever. Felt a lot more mobile, no dead bulk to lug around. Diggin it. Great move on the kit department for myself.

You've convinced me to snatch up a pair of those Emdom belt pads. I was using a Specter Gear pad and freaking hated it! It had no Velcro and moved and twisted everywhere!

My only question is about the 5th mag at your 5:00 on the belt. Already have 4 on there, and that one is going to be a completely different move to commit to muscle memory. Of course, I don't use a warbelt, so take this suggestion with a grain of salt.

I'm guessing it's for reloads when shooting weak handed.

Fair enough.

I'd replace that fast mag with a knife. 4 rifle mags on a belt is more than enough.

The pads worked great. No shifting or anything.

Doesn't the knife impede your drawstroke / holstering?

It only looks like that, but when I put it on the body, everything is OK.

Im going light but cant decide if I want a cobra belt and Raven moduloaders, or the Emdom CM belt/pads.

How stable are the moduloaders if I was using the belt as a throw on, and not with an inner belt or looping it through my pants?

And for the CM belt, what belt attachment options do I have with a Safariland 6377 holster?

Man, I wish that Emdom CM belt had MOLLE on it.

Get this and you are set. That is what I am running. Solid platform. They allow you to config your belt the way you need it, with a solid molle platform, and cuts down on the dead material of a battle belt. Plus Chris over at DRG is top notch.

These are pix of the gunbelt. Carbine/Loadout is in progress and will be done next week.

This is really interesting to me.  My war belt doesn't necessarily feel too bulky to me, but neither did a full size IBA (before the massive load out) until I tried a PC and war belt.  It is a little bit of a PITA to bend over some times.  Do you have any pictures of the molle padding without anything attached?  How much does it give you?

ETA: ok I think I see it better, the molle panels are separate from the padding.  I thought the padding had molle.

Are there any cons that you've found with this?  How comfortable would it be with hours and hours of hard use?

Last weekend I wore this set up for 26+hrs at a 2 day handgun shoothouse gig. No issue whatsoever. No downside that I have found yet. No pressure points. No moving. Which is what sealed the deal for me to build a 2nd one for carbine work.

The only change will be, switching to a ALS holster and RTI platform. Did not get it in time for the house. Can post updated pix once I get them tomorrow.

I see that it makes it look nicer, but what benefit does this have over the internal loops the CM belt has anyways? Seems this is simply a different way of doing the same thing as far as PALS pouch attachment. Or?

Seriously?

The internal loops won't stabilize any pouches with two rows of molle attachments.

^This. Without the PALS the pouches move up, down and to the side as much as the gap in the malice clip provides. Not a solid platform.

Also, PALS have velcro on both sides, so it attaches to the inner belt velcro, and the pads attach to the other side of the PALS. plus malice weave of the pouches and it won't slide or move. Excellent solution imho.

Makes sense.

I've never held the CM belt so I assumed the loops were designed to give a tighter fit, but it does seem a single row wouldn't be enough to stabilize most pouches from moving vertically. That sucks because paying the extra $15 per pouch for the PALS can make the CM belt setup cost prohibitive unless you just need it for a pouch or 2.

Was looking at this for my bolt gun comp belt but I'd have to get at least 5 of these (2xTriad AICS pouch, IFAK, pistol mag, gadget pouch). While its nice and slimmer, for the cost of this plus the belt I'd rethink it.

Depends what you are looking at.

If you set up a brokos with inner, no pouches included:
$120 for vtac brokos
$60+ for a quality inner belt
So you are at $180+ and shipping

This set up, no pouches included:
$40 Emdom CM
$25 Emdom pads
$75 for 5 PALS
So you are at $140 and shipping

Just some food for thought.

That's about where I am at as far as thought process. I have all of the pouches I need already as far as for this bolt gun specific belt and have an extra First Spear assault belt laying around. But yeah, either some sort of warbelt (I have an ATS for my carbine loadout) or try the CM and the PALS attachments. Are the EMDOM pads worth it?

Decisions decisions.

I think they are. Without them it is not a firm fit on me. Here is the MilitaryMoron review for more info on the pads to consider.

http://www.militarymorons.com/equipment/firstline.html#cmbeltpad

Push comes to shove, try itmwithout the pads first, and upgrade later if needed.

Watch that RTI belt loop. I had one of their crack in a few weeks and one of mine crack in a few months. Both cracked in the same location. I was EDC in the winter with it to see how it would do. My Drop piece has been great.

This is all confusing me lol  I finally had my set up figured out and field tested.  I wish I had one to test out to try and compare to the war belt

Front loop, top side on both of them if I remember correctly. I made mine out of .125 and it still cracked.

But you're running a slick c-bun.
In your situation, I would agree. I've got things on my c-bun and thus require a drop on my holster/warbelt.

This is wha we are refering to...I use a non-drop belt attachment for the hoster. This right here is a drop belt attachment for the holster. It lowers the holster by about 1.5-2". Lmk if I misunderstood your question.
