Perhaps you should spend less time paying attention to those who think their job is to tell you what to think. Without 60 votes only a limited amount of legislation makes it to a floor vote. Without at least 50 votes, nothing passes. The Democrats already had the means to block legislation: 46 Democrat senators, 2 "independent" senators who caucus with the Democrats and 3 "Republican" senators who will vote with them when the chips are down. The agreement on the debt ceiling and a temporary spending bill didn't alter those crucial facts. |

How is giving the democrats everything they want not the definition of a RINO? Why is it bad when everyone else does it, but super awesome when Trump does it? It's obvious to see why the democrats like short term debt limits. They get concessions each time. Pretty sure in December they will be willing to extend it again for three months as long as none of the money can be used for a border wall, and Trump agrees not to deport any dreamers. They can string this out for his entire administration and ensure nothing he promised will ever get done. Why is Trump (Head of the Republican Party) going along with them? |
