ELT: Likely not activated until impact with water. If it does work, the signal is quickly attenuated by the water so it is possible there was little or no chance that a signal would have been picked up. ELTs may not be waterproof and could quick working at some point after entering the water. Signal attenuation is the primary reason for no signal if the ELT was activated.
34x knot airspeed. Probably explained by trading airspeed for rate of climb. Also do these aircraft have a maneuvering speed for severe turbulence conditions? You don't mess with thunderstorms. |

Java Sea info

I remember that crash. Hail broke the windscreen. Engines flamed out from water/hail ingestion. This Asia crash is a lot like the Air France crash. Aircraft upset and poor piloting skills to right it. |

Just checked the news networks...CNN is pounding away on the missing flight..'experts' and all...most others are of on some other news or propaganda with the airliner loss just a 'breaking news' scroll across the bottom of the screen...
I figure plane crashes will be declared racist after this!
