A local comic/toy shop had the Mobat still in the box, it was opened, but complete with all the figures. I might go back and snatch it up for $40 for the boy.

I had pretty much every Joe toy. My father broke a major crime ring that hit toy stores. Toys R Us thanked him and the agency by sponsoring a kick ass Christmas.  Dad got me pretty much every Joe toy you can think of. Then hurricane Andrew destroyed our house,

I would always say to my dad " it's only $99" and he would say something about it being more after taxes...

I had a blue Rattler and a Tiger Force Rattler, which were cool but I think my favorite was the Raven, and the Strato-viper was the coolest looking pilot. I just have my nephews all of my old joes a few days ago, it was fun sorting them out and putting stuff back together.

yojoe.com has a vehicle and figure listing (by year is easiest to look up unknowns due to pics) that can be a neat trip down memory lane looking through stuff you had

It might well have been the one in the OP.  It's hard to remember.  I blew so many of them up in the course of epic battles that it's all just a blur now.

I would spend 10-15 minutes setting up all my joes and cobras in combat poses, and then fire up the tank and mow through opposition forces while sitting back in a comfortable "hide" taking out the HVT's with a red ryder.
I could do that shit forever!

Old Joe became a draft dodging hippie "Adventure Man". Small Joe never went against the Flag and kicked ass and took names. Hell, they even fought the commies. Ths Oktober Guard while Old Joe collected mushrooms or some shit.

Another classic is the Mobile Command Center.

Damn I love this thread. Kids these days have no clue what they're missing. GI Joe ARAH was by far the most positive/patriotic thing in my life when I was a wee sprout. It made me want to be a soldier and fight the bad guys.

Also the quality in the earlier toys were amazing with details. The Night Raven and Condor had rubber tires, the MOBAT had working tracks, the File Cards gave actual ranks and MOS for Joes and made the Cobras look cool as fuck.

Oh, the comics..... lucky I still have those. Hurricane Andrew might have destroyed my toys. But my comics were at my Abuela's house and they survived.

No lasers and guys surviving battle since everyone missed ground targets and everyone bailed for vehicles. Real guns, dark stories, and written by Larry Hama.... a combat vet and former author of Marvel's 'Nam 68.

I had almost the entire collection on the Joes side.  The only things I did not have were the space shuttle and the USS Flag.  Tanks, planes helicopters, command centers, mobile and static.  99% of the figures from the generation 1 till 1989.

Gave them to my cousins when I joined the Army.  Biggest regret.

I had the Flagg, and it was awesome.  I got hard up for $ when I was in college, and sold it to a guy who looked like the comic book store guy from the simpsons.
The best part about the Flagg was the PA speaker. I put it on my Huffy bmx to ride around the neighborhood.

...and action figures, Falcon was my favorite;

But the one I always wanted, but was never in the cards, was the Mauler:

Thought about getting one to fix up one of these days and try my hand at restoration. But I always thought it was pretty gnarly.

Collected/played with them from @ '81-86, most of the stuff is in my brothers' basement.  The early personnel carrier truck with the removeable top which also floated got much of the play time.  It was indestructible like a tonka.
Also had snowmobiles, the raptor, water moccasin, the fort, hiss tanks, multiple jeep.  Those were good days.

Eta: the new wider jeep wranglers really look like the gijoe ones to me.

My brother and I got it for Christmas one year...took a couple of hours to set up. The hull was only half complete so you could "transport" other vehicles in it, but the damn thing was so heavy that it could not be moved around all that easily. The arrestor hook would not fit on the Conquest X-30, and I did not own the F-14.

My favorite was the Rapid Fire Motorcycle, which was the green motorcycle with a vulcan cannon for a sidecar.
