Looks like the two suspects were extremely agitated and making furtive movements and not following commands/orders. The one suspect with the weapon should've dropped the weapon. These tactical situations have many variables and can evolve from one extreme situation to another and due to the extreme tension can end rather badly for the suspects View Quote Are you drunk or trolling? |

3 rounds seems excessive for an ND, unless they have rifles with burst? Unless something crazy happened in the cut footage, something is fucky.

was there an actual 911 call that would merit even having a sidearm drawn?

That's the world we live in. Absolutely no need for cops with rifles to even be pointed at those two what the hell. I understand being aware but treating every person like they're a potential terrorist is ridiculous.

I understand being aware but treating every person like they're a potential terrorist is ridiculous. View Quote When the police receive a man-with-a-gun call that mentions threats of suicide, they should absolutely be very cautious. But "cautious" does not mean violating Rule 1: Don't point your firearm at anything you are not prepared to kill. A proper low ready would be acceptable. Based on what little there is so far, I'd say an ND is the most likely explanation for this. Unfortunately careful observation of the rules of gun handling are not often enforced strictly at police departments. Stuff that's dangerous and wrong is often ignored because nobody got shot. I know of an instance where a police officer fired their weapon unintentionally and narrowly missed the head of another officer in the same room...but with absolutely no disciplinary action taken whatsoever. Because A. Diversity! and B. Nobody got shot, so it's not a big deal. You can guess where "But nobody got shot!" thinking ends up. |

Our government has legalized murdering children and bondage (income tax). Who do you think its agents are really working for? Here's a hint: not you and not God and his Son. When you watch videos like this and wonder how police can make such poor decisions, it's because they're not making the decisions at all. There is a darker force pulling the strings. This is the work of Satan, and we are in the last days. Not sure if posted, but a longer news story/interview here.
http://wsvn.com/news/local/video-shows-moments-before-north-miami-police-shot-unarmed-man/ 1) This looks like a horrible, horrible shoot. This guy should be not have to work again, ever, if he doesn't want to, and the cop that shot him should be able to get no employment higher than dishwasher at waffle house. 2) Miami newscasters. Dang! Edit: interview posted while I was watching/typing. Points stand! |

You make it sound like the higher ups don't know who the shitbirds are. Every cop I ever worked with who got fired and/or arrested was a known disaster that the admin/brass/IA refused to do anything about for years even after dozens of complaints from fellow officers. ETA: Perfect example is Joe Trimboli's IA investigation of Michael Dowd years ago and how the brass blocked him from doing anything even through they knew Dowd was a dirty cop. |

*SNIP* The suggestion was made that perhaps the knee-jerk reaction to avoid publicly admitting fault among colleagues was somewhat unique to law enforcement. The original complainants didn't come back to the thread. It was quite eye-opening. View Quote Medical is like this as well, for both valid and invalid reasons. Particularly within mutual systems/corporations. Ethics and honesty tend to get clouded when the liability and professional ramifications can put you out of a job in increasingly risk-adverse climates where alternative options may be limited due to network consolidations. There's pride in being honest, but I know of at least one physician who was black-balled from working in a metro area for speaking out against others within his own network. Later ended up committing suicide under some odd circumstances. Back to the video at hand, ND from the low-ready with a stray fragment striking the victim's leg sounds very plausible. |
