Their AXIS patent expired a few years ago, so other companies are starting to implement it. Hogue has a nice RitterGrip at the moment.

Pretty sure I read that the Hogue HK line is using the axis system in their knives.

I've carried a Benchmade daily for years, own quite a few of their knives, and have purchased quite a few for family and friends and have really been a fan of BM knives, but after watching that video, I won't purchase another BM knife. After the initial post of cutting guns and then the discovery of the political donations, I was holding out to see if and what BM's response would be. That video sealed it for me.

I just emailed Doug Ritter, but that is the AXIS made better, without an assist functionality. I asked him if that modification was in the cards and when Hogue could get up to speed to deliver knives.
