Yep, it's the one you get for free for enlisting during or after Gulf War 1.
Not to be confused with the fruit loop ribbon you get just for graduating basic training...

COMPLETE AND TOTAL BULLSHIT.

Gawd, I am so tired of this false portrayal of the Air Force culture. It's unprofessional, and perpetuates incredibly inaccurate stereotypes.

Because everyone knows the Air Force's favorite saying is "FORE!"

Every time there was a new idiotic policy announcement, I'd ask my chief "is this part of the retention program?" Things were so stupid that people would re-enlist, get knocked up, check into the loony bin, or eff up a knee to get off that ship. I extended my enlistment 7 months to get off of it.

(Note:  Not my patch, by the time this patch came out I was an O5; wouldn't have looked right.)

It was the crayon addiction that did him in. Only the Marines would take him.

Never was in the military.  Have a question.  Are there actually times where someone would hand in a letter like that?

I did work in a place that was paramilitary, and I could see it happening there, heck I am surprised I didn't in the end, but I wanted the option to come back if needed.

Inevitably, when her Sgt (whoever was on the left), chews her ass when whatever ceremony is over, she'll complain up the chain.

My dad was stationed at Ft Carson during Vietnam.

He had already done a tour in Korea and hated stateside duty.

He volunteered to go to Vietnam to get out of Carson.

They sent him to Japan instead.

To be fair, I would NOT want that Air Force guy shooting at me.

Well it's national guard so anything is possible.

I can tell you that when I was on active duty, they would bring everyone who was ETS'ing up to battalion HQ to meet with the LTC & do an outprocessing interview.
As well as putting suggestions for changes to improve morale in writing (either signed or unsigned), you were able to say whatever you wanted about whoever you wanted & it was confidential - so if you worked for a dickhead that was your chance to get it off your chest.
