Eggs in pot
Cover with at least 1-2” cold water High heat until boiling then boil 3 minutes Remove from heat and cover for 15 minutes Ice bath to rapidly cool, peel and eat. I’ve heard and found to be true the older the eggs (not out of date) less they stick to the shell. |

These will be perfect every time. And you can adjust the times to get different yolks, meaning runny or hard.
Get out your pressure cooker put a dozen eggs in it cook it for 5 minutes, release Steam after 2 to 5 minutes , put in ice water for 5 minutes. Now the 5 minutes will give you a real hard yolk. I do it as little as one minute cuz I like them a little runny. And they come out perfect every time and peel really easy |

Do 12 at a time in a muffin tin.
350 for 25-30 mins in the oven. Perfect. |

Quoted: Kinda want to hard boil a bunch today for snacking this weekend and for treating the pups (man they love them!). I know it ain't rocket science , but for those pros that boil em pretty often, care to share your routine? You know, like start with cold or hot water, how long, ice bath finish or no? I mean, I can boil em, but pro tips are welcome. View Quote I’ve boiled a lot of eggs. This is the absolute best way: 3 min in an instant pot, on high, on the rack, over 1 cup of water or less. Let them sit until the pressure is off. Peel them under running cool water. No ice, no tricks, just plain old easy. |

The lengths that people will go to avoid Instant Pot perfection never ceases to amaze me.

A couple of the most recent posts are close IMO.
Place eggs in water Bring to boil for ONE minute. Turn off heat and cover for SEVEN to TEN minutes (depending on how you like your eggs). Cool eggs I think we are similar in that we are not trying to overcook the eggs. Which is why most of the "cooking" is done with the flame off. |

This is the way. I have the 12 count version lol |

I leave the eggs out of the fridge for 20-30 minutes to warm up a bit, pot of water from tap, add a little salt. Put eggs in pot and put on stove bring to boil, shut off stove but leave pot on burner with lid on, 8-14 minutes later eggs go in cold water to stop the cooking process.
I find the little bit of salt aids in the ability to peel the eggs. |
|
I started with boiling water.
Then moved to the InstantPot. Then my parents gifted me one of those steaming egg cookers for xmas this year that's been posted several times already... I thought it was a gimmick, but dang those things work 100% of the time, perfect results, minimal effort with no watching the clock. Just put them in there with the water and walk away, come back later and they are perfect. I thought it would end up at Goodwill within a year, but I'm keeping it. |

I believe this is from Martha Stewart. Works great for us.
1) Put eggs in pot that fits them all in the bottom (none stacked / on top of each other) 2) Fill pot to cover eggs + 1" with cool water 3) Put on stove and bring to a rolling boil 4) Turn off heat, immediately cover, and let sit for 11-14 mins (depends on how you like them. I do 13). 5) Uncover, pour off the hot water, and replace with cold water to stop the cooking process. I think adding some salt to the water might (??) help with peeling. I forget. |

If you only need a 2-4 eggs boiled this is the best way. Fill with water to line. Put eggs and cover on. I run it for 11:20 in my microwave and have perfect hard boiled eggs every time. After they are cooled with cold water they peal like a dream.

What is it with arfcom's penchant to make things so difficult?
Hard boiled eggs are supremely easy. 1. Bring water to a boil 2. Use a spoon to gently lower eggs into boiling water 3. Boil eggs for 8 minutes minimum 4. Remove eggs with same spoon used in step #2 and allow them to cool in any way that is convenient. 5. Peel eggs and enjoy however you want. This is not rocket science. |

Every other non-pressure cooker method I've ever used is garbage and results in tore up eggs. View Quote 5th post nails it. I make a lot of eggs, pickled eggs are awesome. This is the best method. As another poster stated, I was shocked eggs could cook this nicely and not all grey. |

I steam them for 13-15 minutes and then into an ice water bath for about 15 minutes. Perfect every time.

Start with cold pot of water, pinch of salt, insert eggs, bring pot to boil and then wait 8 1/2 minutes.
Put in ice water directly after. You cant put cold eggs into boiling water, they'll crack. |

Old eggs.
In a steamer. I have one of those single purpose steamers but a steamer basket in a pot works too. 20 minutes or more then a few minutes to rest and then under cold water to cool before the fridge. |

1 or 2 eggs? Buy some preboiled eggs from the store.
Boiled eggs regularly on the menu? Buy an egg cooker. If we were starting out and had no kitchen gadgets, the egg cooker would be our 1st one. |

Bring water to boil, enough to cover eggs. Place eggs in with tongs. Let boil for 6 min. Turn off burner, let sit in hot water for 10 min. Run cold water over eggs and eat. She’ll falls off like you stick butter inside and yolk is soft yellow , not grey and not dried out.

Quoted: You really need to or your own testing to determine the right amount of time to boil. I bring water to a boil and then put the eggs in. I set a timer for 10 minutes and when done, I drain the hot water and fill with cold water and ice cubes. Mine come out like the chart below. https://www.recipetineats.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/How-long-to-boil-eggs-square.jpg?w=500&h=500&crop=1 I have also tried 8-9 minutes with a moister yolk, but not really soft boiled in my opinion, and I think they are pretty good too. If I am making deviled eggs, I usually go an extra minute or two to make sure the yolks are not wet at all. If you overcook them, the yolks usually take on a green tinge and get dry. The more overcooked, the more green the yolk seems to get. View Quote |

Place eggs in pot.
Add cold water inch above eggs. Cook until water is boiling. Pull from heat, sit uncovered for 20 minutes. Place in ice bath. Peel when fully chilled under running water. |

Quoted: For those of you who are using the Insta pot how much water are you supposed to put in prior to cooking? View Quote One cup (8 oz) of water. I keep a gallon of store bought distilled water for this. And you really should try using an instant pot but go with 4 minutes high pressure and 4 minutes venting then 5+ minutes in ice bath. I do this every week with 18 room-temp eggs from my backyard. I do try and use at least 3-4 day old eggs to help with the peeling. @Jim_X |

I found one of those EggPod things at a grocery store a couple years ago . They had them in the egg section on a shelf above the eggs , it works like a charm if you follow the directions. Kinda cheaply built but a couple of years down the road it still works.

I use my oldest eggs.
When I remove them from the fridge, I turn each egg over in the carton. Helps recenter the yolk, let them sit out. Bring the pasta cooker pot to a boil. Add a dash of baking soda to the water. Place eggs in the pasta basket. I usually do a dozen at a time. Lower the basket into the pot and low boil 13 minutes. Remove to ice water bath. Let them sit 10 mins or so. Keep water hot. After ice water, bring the pot back to a boil. Lower the basket into the water again and boil 2 minutes. Then ice bath again. Dry and store in the fridge. This is derived from the Julia Childs recipe. The 2nd boil/ice bath helps break the bond between the membrane and the shell. |

275 degrees in an air fryer for 13 minutes. Ice bath after and peel.

Many moons ago I worked at a pub that sold 300 pickled eggs a day. One egg cost (at that time) 15 cents, and was sold for $3.50.
I got schooled the hard way in making, the chef was an ashole but he was right, always. I will never forget the verbal abuse of Shane, the alcoholic fucking chef. Perfect hard-boiled eggs, every fucking time. Place room-temperature eggs in a pot of room-temperature water, a huge pot. Add 2 tablespoons of salt, and 20 ml of white vinegar, 5%. Put the lid on the pot. Don't talk back you little grub, and do what I say. Bring to boil, and once the lid starts dancing (steam makes the lid bounce up and down), turn the fucking pot off, you piece of shit. Put the timer on, for exactly 21 min. Once the timer goes off, empty the pot and put it under cold water. Your mother is a whore. After 3 min of cold water, get about 50 eggs into another smaller pot with a lid, and shake the fucker. Now use cold running water to get any remaining egg shells off and put them in the pickling jar. Pickle for 5 days, then the fucking eggs are ready. I feel sorry for your father because of how retarded you are. You little fucking cunt. Do this every day for 25 years, and you too can be like Shane. |
