In the path.   We are prepped.  Water/Fuel/Food/Ammo lol.  Hopefully it shifts more west.   The area around Perry is much more sparsely populated and mostly deer camps.   Will post when it passes.  Have to pull the starlink inside tonight.

I'm on the east coast. I'm going to a local gun shop to see if I can snag a S&W Model 422.

422 or 442?

Yeah, that would be bad. And in no way am I not sympathetic to those currently residing in the area which is less populated. Because, as I mentioned before, hurricanes suck and are evil. Prayers to all of my fellow southerners dealing with this!

Friends have a place in horseshoe Beach.
At 15ft....it may be just at the porch ( 95% of the homes got put on pilings few years ago).
But as posted...it's 20+ minute drive to get to " town:. Nothing but woods....
Still sucks for the locals.

I don’t know the answer but if you download the app flight aware onto your phone, it will tell you where your plane currently is so you know if it’s coming in late or canceled.
Good luck

Probably some rain and mild wind, unless it hooks a hard right.

Shouldn’t be an issue by next week…

Very little impact. We have worse summer storms as it currently sits. Just had a random storm 3 weeks ago dump 5" of rain in an hour with 50mph winds.

We took a direct hit from Charlie - power down for 1 week+ and Disney was open at full capacity the next day.

They will be more than fine.

ETA: Saw other responses. I live in orlando, have been for 20 years. Been through all of them. Orlando will be more than fine with this- we are barely even forecast to get TS winds and only 1-2" of water. Hell I have a lunch meeting scheduled for tomorrow. By contrast we got 90mph and 16" with Ian and a week later all was back to normal.

Unless it shifts and takes everyone by surprise your co-worker wont even know it happened.

It moves fast.

The band came in quickly, sky turned dark, poured for about 20 mins and then was gone.

Another band coming in a bit.  Should be similar to the last one.  They will be coming all night.

No lightning strikes along the coast.  A bunch were hitting about 40-50 miles inland (between Arcadia and Sebring).

Water temps in the Gulf are high. We went fishing this weekend and the fish finder showed 92 degree water temps.

That's Hurricane nitrous. If wind shear isn't bad I could see it getting stronger as it approaches warmer shallow waters.

It's hugging the coast so that might affect the outflow. Tampa is on the bad side of it but worst stays offshore.

You'll be fine there.  Generally anything west of 4th will be fine from surge unless we get a massive hit.  Wind is more concerning if it gets bad.  My place is a block from the water in Shore Acres just to the east of you.  I'm up in Tampa now though.

Most of Pinellas will be under water if we ever get hit with a major storm.  Look at a topographical map and you'll see a donut in the central part of the county.  It'll be the last thing not underwater, although it will probably be torn up from wind if it gets that bad.

Hi neighbor!

We will have more coming, but at least we have an idea of what's coming.

Tampa Bay is getting the wave we got.  Looks like they are getting wet!  Those north of Tampa should anticipate lots of rain within the hour.

Naples is getting the second big band so we will be getting it in a couple of hours.

If you need hazard insurance, closing will be delayed as most companies will not start coverage when there is an active tropical storm or hurricane warning.

If you are buying in Zone A, flood insurance is a really good idea.
