Interesting graphic, never realized that area had not been in a Cat 3+ storm. A very near miss with Michael just to the west, there was a lot of flooding in the bay though.

Largo here too. That the Belleair causeway?
My wife helped pack up all the birds the Seaside Seabird Sanctuary this morning. They get moved to an inland warehouse in Largo. She brought home seven Screech Owls for a couple of days. Cute little guys.

I check in with TT all the time when a storm is active. Use to follow Joe Bastardi and Ryan Maue too but they have both moved on.

I know it will suck for the locals, but I would think a big natural coastal wetland like that would be the optimal location to land a storm if you had to choose.

How bad do yall think Orlando will get?

I've got a co-worker that's supposed to go there on vacation next week.

Tell him to wait until any issues are reported.  Watch the news starting Wednesday but give them until Friday to get a handle on issues.

Do you know where orlando is positioned in relation to the storm?

Wesh2 is one of the local news from that area to watch.

This will be reaching St Pete in about 30 mins and Tampa, closer to 45-50mins.

East Tampa will get more rain than the coast I think.

Just finished with second band in Fort Myers near Colonial.  Radar looks like a third band is inbound within the next 45 minutes or so.  God Bless to our brothers and sisters up in Apalachee Bay, Steinhatchee, the Big Bend, and Cedar Key, as well as along the St Mary's and the eastern Panhandle.  This one is going to be a wet one!

Hi neighbor!

We will have more coming, but at least we have an idea of what's coming.

Tampa Bay is getting the wave we got.  Looks like they are getting wet!  Those north of Tampa should anticipate lots of rain within the hour.

Naples is getting the second big band so we will be getting it in a couple of hours.

Saw that down there.  How was it?

The wave that you just experienced doesn't seem too bad up here yet.  Lighter rain than the first wave.

Yeah, I'm feeling for those up in the bend.  If it doesn't happen to you, it's happening to someone else.  Bless those that will be negatively affected.

Wind-wise, the First band was a little worse than the second band; the second band seemed to last a lot longer.  Both had a lot of rain.

If you need hazard insurance, closing will be delayed as most companies will not start coverage when there is an active tropical storm or hurricane warning.

If you are buying in Zone A, flood insurance is a really good idea.

I'm about 30 minutes inland from Fort Myers on the boat and it's been really mild here today - until it wasn't.  We had some rains and winds in the 20 knot range, but generally boring.  Then about 30 minutes ago we had a vortex land on us with 58 knot winds blowing in a big circle.  Yes, like a tornado although I don't think that would qualify as one.  Such things are a little spooky when your house starts flying around in random directions.  I last saw that little system heading directly north....

Got the last of the preps done a few minutes ago. Got the new car in the barn, generator staged, dogs run, 5 gallon buckets filled, etc…. Now it’s just a waiting game.

The wife is considered essential personnel by the state so she has to go into work tomorrow morning. They’re not scheduling patients so she’s just going to sit around and twiddle her thumbs for 8+ hours. I suppose there might be a chance that an inmate needs an emergency root canal or filling but at least she doesn’t have to man the emergency operations center. Apparently, it’s required to have a dentist or dental rep man those things; no, I’m not kidding about that.

Best of luck to you guys.
