Protecting the family is the most important thing a man can do, and should not be infringed upon by anyone. Dated a gal for awhile that was anti gun and anti carry.
Needless to say, that relationship didnt last and her stance on my 2a rights was one of the things that lead me to break up with her. Women I married was never into shooting or anything but had no issue with guns when we met. Now she carries and enjoys shooting at the range with me.

I'd ask what her plan was to stop me, because you best not be making ultimatums unless you're prepared to do something. It's a man's duty to protect his family, & there's no point in being married if she is really only interested in having a roommate with a penis & a paycheck. Being married involves responsibilities, those responsibilities require the authority to carry them out. Attempting to usurp that authority is a violation of the marriage covenant. First I'd ask her why she feels that way, and if she seems willing to have a conversation about it, I would try to convince her. Many women seem to have just a default "no guns" position for no real reason whatsoever and I've brought many more women like that onto our side than anti-gun men who seem far more entrenched in their dumb position.
However, if after addressing her reasonable concerns or outlandish assumptions, she still didn't budge, I'd tell her that I've noted her opinion but am doing it anyway. Whether that's the end of it or not is really up to her. She can not like it and live with it, she can make a big deal about it every time she sees it, or maybe she could see that her assumptions were wrong and come on board after seeing is believing. But I wouldn't have married her in the first place if this was the case. |
