Nice!  Where'd you source your parts?

Today's purchases. A new 610-3 and a pre-lock 629-5

Niiiiice.  I love my 329PD, but I'd sure rather have a pre-lock 629 (with the endurance package).

So say you had around $2k for a good investment on a revolver what would you buy?  New Python?  Performance shop Smith?

I'd look for something like a nice, pre-hillary hole, S&W Model-57 (.41 Magnum) with the presentation case and factory accessories or the same in a Model-29 (.44 magnum). Probably 6 inch, but 4 inch is an option if I were to carry it.  YMMV.

I love it.  Do you start at a low ready, or start from concealment (or just holstered)?  I'm going to run these the next time I get to my shooting spot.

Please forgive my tone in my prior post.

Spend some time shooting K and N frames and you'll better understand weights and balances of revolvers.

The 5 inch Model 27 in my avatar would be ridiculously heavy comparatively, but it's incredibly well-balanced, IMO. I feel the HB Model 10s are odd-feeling, but the 5 inch taper-barrel guns feel very good. I know that's odd.

Try some target grips and see if they make you feel differently about the weight. I avoid magna grips on my guns for many reasons, one of them being that they make them feel heavier to me

Trying something a bit different here. Today I tried this Pachmayr K-Frame grip adaptor on my Uberti Bisley in .44 WCF. It fits, and greatly improves the feel of the piece. I'm able to get a firing grip much more easily and quickly. I'll get a chance to shoot it on Sunday.

I learned to shoot w/ my grandfather's 5" Model 10.  My brother has it now.  It was in poor shape when my grandfather got it, so he sent it back to Smith for rebluing.  It's gorgeous.

Picked up a new toy today, a 1950s-vintage High Standard Sentinel in .22 LR with nickel finish and a 3" barrel. Here it is will my S&W Model 18-3 .22 K-Frame.

Attachment Attached File

It appears to have been barely used and spent the past 60 years in a drawer.

The HS is much lighter than the K-Frame, because it has an aluminum frame. The cylinder holds 9 rounds. The SA pull is quite nice. The DA pull is heavy but very smooth. It should be a fun plinker.

I'm currently on the hunt for a Bisley 44 mag, a pre-lock 4" 686/586, and a 4 inch model 65.

I'm going to hit a gun show next weekend and hopefully find one off the list. I could bid on gunbroker, but I sure like to prowl around locally and see what I can scrounge up.
