People who have never received a decent punch can be VERY disoriented after they receive a punch. Especially if the punch is to the nose...it stings like the dickens, your eyes water so much you can barely see, and if it causes a nose bleed, it tastes like you have a bunch of pennies (copper) in your mouth.
It isn't hard to get used to the taste like pennies in your mouth, and accepting that the sting is only temporary isn't too hard to get used to, but eyes watering so much that you can barely see is something I never could overcome or get used to. But it is really easy to tell the difference between people who have received punches before and those who are experiencing receiving a punch for the first time. First timers almost never respond fast enough to put up much of a fight. First they have to figure out what just happened, then think about what they are going to do about it...and the fight is usually over by then. |
