I don't get it.
Instead of improving on a 1911 (difficult but possible) and a plastic fantastic, they appear to have taken some of the worst features of each and jammed them into one gun. They could have made a copy of the (unobtanium) DWX, in that size with the alloy frame and no retarded dingus on the trigger or goofy modular, cobbled together grip. I would have bought at least two. |

Quoted: Quoted: Meh not great looking. Should make smaller DA/SA style carry guns to compete with the Shield Plus and Glock 43x and Sig 365 and so forth. If they could do a Walther P99 DA/SA style gun, but Shield Plus size, that would be great. yep, I'd snap that up right away I want more DAO guns |
|
|
In terms of size, capacity and (presumed) weight, I’m not seeing any advantages this design has over the Shield Plus

Just stoked to see a new carry-oriented SAO gun coming to market.
DAO striker fired is where the market has gone. (Hell, even including me most days). I'd like to see an alloy (or even polymer) new modern take on the 1903 Pocket Hammerless. SAO, striker fired, 9x19 with the new "stack-and-a-half" magazine hotness. Like the R51.... but actually functional. |

This might be just the thing to replace that Remington model 51 which I never got around to buying.

More sales, people who bought first, sell and buy latest version. That's why it's best to wait for the version you actually want. |

Everyone wanted black of course, but bought the silver since that was all there was, until of course they released black later on. |

I kind of think it could be a new EZ9ish pistol. Looks like it has the wider slide wings in the back, being hammer fired it can be easier to cycle by hand. The double safeties are also a bonus for people who want a safer ( if you think 2 safeties is good ) gun. Also gets them away from the grip safety and non existent extra ez9 mags to a more common mag.

Bonus points if it takes M&P 9 mags. Probably doesn’t though.

There is zero info on the pistol out so far. Or a writer/media demo gun,.....I assume has to follow standard FFL background checks to receive the gun for testing. Spitballing. |

Needs moar optics cut and less trigger dinguses.
Otherwise looks good. |

Wonder if this is S&W’s foray into a chassis based trigger system? Was the SN on the frame or in a window (not a great tell, since M&Ps are viewable in a window)
|
|
|
The size of this thing looks to be somewhere in the neighborhood of the original Shield or maybe a G48.
I also think S&W expects this to be a niche product for enthusiasts, not a world beating carry gun that will dominate the market. And with the way so many guns are basically all the same, it's good to see someone try something different. I'll withhold judgement until I get one in my hands. |
|

Looks nice other than that trigger.
I wouldn’t get one unless it were a steel frame too (either nitrided or stainless). I’m just not that interested in aluminum frame guns. Never have been. Both polymer and steel are more resilient and wear better. |
|
Looks like an M and P that's sao hammer instead of striker. There's a market for that?
Sig sold some 220s that were sao, I have one, but I don't think there was a big demand. |

It was a thought that popped into my head on the 3rd or 4th ogling of the image. It just reminds me of the aluminum grip module for the P320. |

It’s got to be fairly cheap for the cut to be made in the manufacturing process. I’m also wondering when more manufacturers will follow the Laugo Alien/Taurus TX comp barrel mounted red dot configurations. |
