This race is everything that is wrong with F1 these days. One team dominates for a few years because they are right on with the ever changing tech package. Best racing is mid pack. Penalties for racing hard. A SC start that helps the home town hero.

How do you guys know the difference between Hamilton and Rosberg's cars when watching them go by on the track or TV.
I wish each driver had individual liveries so they can be recognized easier. |

I'm tired of watching Hamilton. Until someone gets going faster I guess its what we've got.

Some track driers would do them well. Just have to get the track dry enough or just the first few turns. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Are the drivers required to keep their helmets on until they leave the track, even though the race is over?
Looks like Hamilton and Rosberg still don't like each other; no hi, no pat on the back. |

Looking at the Sky Sports F1 site, I just noticed that Williams has had the fastest pit stop in every race this season up to this race. Not sure about today's race, they don't have the results up yet.
Link to Sky Sports page. Right next to the DHL Logo is the Fastest pit stop for each race. They did a 1.92 second stop for Massa at Baku. |

didnt redbull do something stupid low pitstop at COTA couple years back with webber?

So when do we expect to hear about F1s decision on Nico/Mercedes penalty?

View Quote 2013 US Grand Prix: The Red Bull Racing Team completed a pit stop for Mark Webber which they timed at 1.923 seconds. 2016 European Grand Prix: The Williams Team completed a pit stop for Felipe Massa in 1.89 seconds. This would make it the fastest F1 pit stop ever. Looks like the Baku stop is the quickest, but yeah, Red Bull pulled off some crazy fast stops as well, as you said. |

That puts him to 3rd, and his lead in the WDC down to 1 point, doesn't it?
Stick a fork in Nico. |

They're not required to keep them on but they do have to hold into them and everything they wear so the can be weighed post-race. They also watch when the driver runs over to his team to make sure they're not putting weights in his suit. The driver is supposed to immediately be weighed. Quoted:

That pit stop was done with helium-gassed guns IIRC, which were faster. Since helium has been banned times went up and have been working their way down again. Nico Rosberg demoted to 3rd place after penalty Overall I think it was an interesting race. Nico showed again that he's absolute garbage in the wet, while Hamilton really shines. I know it's kinda puff-piece-ish, but the fact that Hamilton didn't have rain tires for his kart when he was a kid really has paid off. Verstappen is an up and coming beast, no doubt. For the third time in this thread, I'll say that his stock for the 2018 season will be huge. Silverstone is an awesome track. It's not my personal favorite but I can say that is just such and interesting place to race. Rosberg's radio communication I see as a non-issue. Martin Brundle made a good point, that these cars are complicated. F1 was correct to limit radio discussion when engineers were radioing about which gears to use, but if the car is on its was to exploding I see no issue with the team telling the driver which buttons to push. On to HUNGARY which is probably my second favorite track. It's so short and fast it's almost dizzying. |
