Quoted: The rule itself is bullshit. The fact they change the rules mid-season is even more bullshit. Mandated V6s, mandated fuel limit, refueling banned, mandated fuel flow limit, artificially fast wearing tires, mandated tire pressures, now taking 90%+ of the team out of the competition, and soon to be closed cockpit open wheel cars. Where is the sport? I thought they needed to crack down on the radio use a bit, all of the commands to the driver were essentially two way telemetry but in trying to make it "sporting" they've gone beyond ridiculous. Now they're putting sensors into the track to determine if a driver has gone too far off track to gain an advantage and needs to be penalized, Here's an idea put a wall there. Want to be fast in Montreal? You're going to risk eating at the Wall of Champions. Vettel has it right "It's the FIA to blame for building circuits that make it faster to run off the track than on the track," he said. "It's quite disappointing. "The result is it's faster to go off track than to stay on track. "It doesn't make much sense, does it?" Alonso to Sports Car? |

Where is the sport? I mostly agree with all of that. Still, there's a small part of me that that agrees because changing the formula spurs innovation. Still, the formula and rules should not be changed mid-season. What's next, changing rules mid-race? (I fully expect someone to now provide an example of mid-race rule change) |

Nothing too exciting. Sounds like there could be some track limits issues for quali and tomorrow.
|

LoL, lucky mercedes..
that was normally a virtual safety car, not a red flag.... |

Was going to try to watch quali but I'm headed to the national matches. I guess I'll catch the replay.

The FIA should spread the new rules to their other series. No more asking about tire wear or strategy in WEC, navigators can only use sign language in WRC... Etc.
Also, a strict interpretation of "the driver must drive the car alone and unaided" would make any form of aerodynamic downforce illegal, as it aides the driver. So do grooved tires in the rain... time for a midseason rule change. |

hammy getting whiny about Roseberg not lifint enough for a yellow
http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/hamilton-calls-on-fia-to-clarify-yellow-flag-rules-801593/ "It just needs to be clarified now," said Hamilton. "Us drivers need to understand the yellow flag situation, because obviously in the way that it's written is potentially not the way it's interpreted, either by the stewards or the drivers. "So more clarification would be good. For me there was no question I had to lift, because Fernando was on the track. "Perhaps for Nico, Fernando had cleared, but there were still flags, so it was a different scenario." Hamilton was keen to point out that double yellows mean be prepared to stop. "When it's a yellow flag it says you have to be prepared to slow down, or you have to slow down, and lose some time. View Quote |

I'm ready....anybody else around?
Vettle's response to the driver "coaching" rule is not pg 13. I wonder what Kimi said. |

during FP2 instead of nbc live extra (online race feed) going to commercial break it just switched to the international feed without the commentators. Hoping they do that today for the race. They show way too many commercials during the race.
Edit: yeah it's not showing it |

If your cable systems has it, switch over to UniMas HD (Univision Mas) during the NBCSN commercial breaks. They show the F1 races live and interruption-free. Yes, the commentary is in Spanish, but it is the same feed NBCSN uses, all the driver audio comes over in English (as required), and it beats the alternative of seeing the race in a small box in the corner (or not at all) during the NBCSN breaks. Fucking Verstappen changes direction at least 3 times every time someone tries an overtaking !
The kid is really a fucking moron and the FIA let him... |

Fuck the FIA for letting this happen and fuck them for the most boring formula - ever
|

Like him or not, Lewis walks the walk, again.
Awesome work from Red Bull for keeping vettel off the podium. Looks like Ferrari is now battling to be the third place team in the series. |

Must of been a boring race to only have half a page of conversations about it lol

Well, there was almost a race at the first corner at the beginning of the race.
