Well of we're talking about people in their early-mid 30s it's easy to see why they liked the Cowboys in the 90s. If I lived in a city that didn't have an NFL team and there was an expansion I'd like to think I would become a fan. I think that's probably especially true for people who were 10-15 when the Texans expansion happened.

Actually you were right first time.  Whether they’ll admit it or not most current Houston area Texans fans that are at least 30 years old were Cowboys fans in the 90’s.

Most of the Texans fans I know dislike the Titans.  I’d use the word “hate,” but a lot of that was due to owner Bud Adams.  Since he died about 5 years ago it’s nowhere close to where it use to be.

It wasn’t just that age group though.  That was just roughly the cut off.

Of course people that haven’t seen the Cowboys do shit in their lifetimes are big Cowboys fans.  Like this guy.

Dalton needs benched and I could argue the Bengals should have dumped him 5 seasons ago.

Bengals just need to tank this season and compete with the dolphins for #1

There are very few QBs that could compete behind that O-line I watched tonight.

Kliff Kingsbury, Zac Taylor, Vic Fangio and Brian Flores are all winless. The first time in the 100 year NFL history that 4 rookie head coaches have gone winless through the first 4 games.

Kyle Allen has been sacked 5 times so far this season. He has fumbled on all 5 sacks.

Before Sunday's game the Washington Redskins partnered with United Way to donate 100 meals for every touchdown the team scored. The Redskins had 0 touchdowns.

This week will be Frank Gore's 200th NFL game, only one other RB in NFL history has started 200 games, Emmitt Smith.

There are four 0-4 teams. The Broncos, Redskin, Bengals and Dolphins. The Broncos, Redskins and Bengals COMBINE for a -128 point differential. The Dolphins have a -137 all by themselves.

So the Patriots signed Benjamin Watson (tight end) in the off season. He had a 4 game suspension, so this week will be his first game of the season.
He played for the Patriots from 2004 until 2009. He was released. Went on to play with the Browns, the Saints, the Ravens, the Saints again, he retired, now he is back with the Patriots.

If he catches a pass this weekend it will have been 3,556 days since his last reception from Tom Brady.

That has to be a record for length of time between catches between the same QB and receiver.

The last time he caught a pass from Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes was 14 years old...

Maybe, but hard to say before I see where the public is betting and the line movement.

For me a "whiskey shot bet" is something like the Chiefs vs the Lions last week.  Where pretty much everything is pointing to one team (Mahomes' first game in a dome, the Lions are banged up, Stafford has a bad back, etc.) and yet the line movement doesn't reflect that.  It's almost like they were begging people to take the Chiefs.  So you take the Lions even though it doesn't make much sense.

Like I said, it's too early right now but I think the most likely candidate would be Saints @ Jags: Jags -1.  If the public is pounding the Saints (and they probably will) and the Jags stay a favorite then I'll almost certainly be on the Jags.

My buddy and I have a term for this when playing Madden: Meme Bowl.

We pick the two worst rated teams from each conference.

No running the ball
No punting. Go for it or fake punt/FG attempt
2 pnt conversion and onside kick every time after a score
Almost all heavy blitz or quarter defense
Heavy use of screen passes and 7 receiver sets
Random use of timeouts and challenges

Shit is FUN. I think I beat him 27-24 with the Browns vs Chargers (madden 17 I think)

GB uses collegiate cheerleaders, from UWGB I think. I don't think they're paid either. Not exactly a lot of professional cheerleader/dancer/model types yearning to spend their college years in a tiny cold city in the middle of nowhere. Plenty of normal cute college girls, not a ton 10's.

I honestly don't know any Packer fans, or anybody in WI, that cares that the Packers don't have a professional squad. If anything most people probably prefer having the local college squad do it. Rural WI in general is big on a sense of community and when it comes to the Packers that seems to be something that brings people together from all over the state. We like seeing stuff that's "home grown." You also see it big time when a WI kid gets his shot at playing for GB.

According to Chris Mortensen, the Eagles offered a first and second round pick to the Jags for Jalen Ramsey.

Patriots are reportedly working out some free agent kickers. Ghost has missed 4 extra point attempts this season already.

Tom Brady has been using the same shoulder pads since 1995, from the University of Michigan. "I've worn them for 25 years." Pads are older than 5 of his current team mates. He was wearing them for 3 years before Patriots 2nd round pick CB Joejuan Williams was born.

Broncos have reportedly fielded calls on Emmanuel Sanders and there is a good chance he gets moved.

Patrick Mahomes is 235 yards away from breaking Peyton's 2013 record of most yards to begin a season without an interception (1,744).

Le'Veon Bell will be Falk's backup this Sunday as Sam Darnold is still doubtful.

And on the other hand suing the NFL over CTE about safety and then turn around trying to get a thug back in the league that has a strong and repeated history of this.

He led with his helmet and went for a headshot on a defenseless receiver that was on his knees. He could have done any number of things to safely and reliably down the ball, and he chose to go full retard.

Combine that with the dude's history, and he should absolutely be removed from the league. He has proven without any doubt that he will never learn and he will never change.

You want to issue a punishment that is unprecedented and is not clearly covered in the CBA/NFL policies. It is just ANOTHER example of God King Goodell doing whatever he wants. Which unfortunately has been upheld/confirmed by the courts due to the piss poor job the CBA did last time. Expect that to be changed in the new one.

Burfict has had three suspensions. TWO were safety related. Both were three games long in 2016 and 2017.

To go from a 3 game suspension two years ago to a 12 game suspension (or banishment as you would prefer) without any league policy on a standard for increasing punishments just doesn't fly and it isn't right.

Burfict will most likely, and SHOULD, win his appeal and see a reduction in games. I think a MAXIMUM at this point should be 8 games (half a season) but even more likely, and I would be perfectly fine with, is 4-6 games.

There's 15 line items in that list, and a couple of them are two-fers.

He was trash before he ever entered the league. In college, he had 22 personal fouls in 37 games, and he had a history of fighting and roughing up his own team mates in practice.

If the NFL wants to even pretend they care about player safety, this shit stain can't step foot on a field again. No ifs, ands, or buts. You can make "god king" complaints about Goodell, and that's certainly applicable in some cases, but at some point enough is enough.

LOL this sure is unprecedented. Somebody always has to be the first to push the limits. Bringing up the collective bargaining agreement as an argument is just bad form in my opinion. There is nothing in it that prohibits the NFL from doing this. You want playing to get safer this is the way to do it. There are current and former palyers pushing for this. It's not just a fan boy thing...

If the NFL wants to pretend about caring they need to make a set punishment scale and stick to it. You can't just go, "Okay, that was a bad hit, and Burfict is a bad guy, this is a perfect time to all of a sudden, with no prior warning or precedence, drop the hammer on this fucking guy and act like we're the good guys."

Come out at the start of the season and say, "Hey, here are the new safety rules, here is how we are going to enforce it, here is the new fine schedule, and here is our new suspension schedule for these infractions." and then fucking STICK TO IT and enforce it equally.

See both of my replies above. I answered this directly.

This is just another Ray Rice style response from the league. Well... Normally it would be a 1 game suspension, maybe 3 or 4, but the public are watching, and this looks bad on us, so let's just suspend him for the whole fucking season because we can, because the CBA is so bad it says I can punish anyone, for any length of time I want, without any reason or justification or following prior history of punishments."
