Speaking of media hypocrisy, anyone remember that slave auction commercial woke ESPN had where white men were bidding to "buy" black NFL players?

i love the crickets from everyone on this. and i don't even give a shit about what he said, just gotta love the media hypocrisy.

Kike is one of those words I've literally never heard a person say out loud. Only ever seen it written. And I lived with a Jew for a year.

kind of like i've never heard redskin used as a racial slur, and i worked with a registered native american who liked the name and voted conservative.

Leonard was drunk and streaming and he got mad at a game. he's in the fucking NBA so he's clearly not racist. some jewish people will claim there is a lot more anti semitism out there than we see. i had a jewish professor who talked about how there was an anti semitic hate crime on our campus one night, but no one heard about it, and honestly i would've never known she was jewish until she mentioned she was.

Was scheduled for a $9.5M cap hit with $8M in cash. $1.6M dead cap. Frees up $7.9M.

Edit:

Drops his 2021 cap hit to $6.9M
2022: Up to $14.3M ($18.5M dead)
2023: Up to $17.7M ($12.8M dead)
2024: Up to $17.7M ($7.1M dead)
2025: Up to $13.6M

That's some serious cap commitment for a RB in the future. Following the Wimpy pay you Tuesday for a burger today system.

$3M dead cap on a $6.9M overall. Save $3.9M.

Kind of surprised on this one. His production hasn't gone down at all looking at the base numbers. Titans just scrapping their whole defense? Someone will sign this guy. Safeties are a hot commodity this year.

lol no man WOW

It is absolutely incredible how a commercial was proposed, approved, produced, shot, and edited in which white men were "buying" black guys at an auction and no one stopped to say "you know, this might not be a good idea."  Especially when that commercial is for a company obsessed with race.

Yeah, it was great for a couple of seasons.  Maybe 3, IIRC.

The episode where the Jewish guy got caught spray painting a swastika on a pothole so the city would pay to fix it was hilarious.

They are for allowing players to go to free agency and then getting signed by other teams. Then you lose one if you sign free agents.

Packers lost 4 last year (Martinez, Bulaga, Fackrell and Goodson) they signed 1 (Funchess). So they netted 3.

Then the round is based on salaries. Likely the 4th was for Martinez, 5th for Bulaga and 6th for Fackrell.

Yesterday John Clayton was saying Guards were going to be a huge part of the cap casualties, seems to be right so far. I think I have seen at least 6 or 7 Guard releases so far.

Every time I see the FA WR list, Samuel is the guy that stands out as maybe a nice grab for the Chiefs. He's young enough that his contract can be back-loaded a bit, and he shouldn't be outrageously expensive.

I thought it was TWO 3rd round picks for a minority HC hire, right?

Guard/Center is the position I'll probably be watching the closest as the FA market develops. The Chiefs should be able to find some value there, and it's a position of need.

The Steelers need most of an offense, though.

The Chiefs need 2-3 linemen, a third receiving target to be the guy behind Hill and Kelce, and that's about it on offense.

Right now there are 10 free agent Guards who made $4M or more in 2020. All veteran, higher dollar dudes, and all should be available for half price except for the top 2-3. Or maybe just the top 1 (Thuney).

There's another 10, all with multiple years experience, who made between $1.5M and $4M last year. Who could be real cheap fill ins for teams that are cash strapped but need a veteran guard vs taking one in the draft or a UFA.

I'm just looking for a good list of who's available, how old they are, and some kind of metric of how they've performed the last season or two.

Don't forget the Detroit guys, too. There are a lot of WRs near the top of that FA list in for big paydays.

The Titan FA I'm low key interested in is Jonnu Smith. I have no idea what that guy's market is, but Chiefs TEs not named Kelce have been disastrous for years, and Kelce is now 31. It's not a position of priority, but Smith could be a versatile depth guy if the price is right.

Is it known how it is determined whether someone is a minority or not? Can they simply claim to be one and that's enough?

I'm not saying we have an Elizabeth Warren-type situation going on, but I am somewhat suspicious.

There are still a bunch of guys (like Chicago's Ifedi) who are not on the free agent list until next week since they haven't been "released" yet. But here's a list of current guys on the FA list, the top 20 based on pay last year. Sorted by how much they were paid in 2020, high to low, then age:
Joe Thuney 29
Gabe Jackson 30
Kevin Zeitler 31
Richie Incognito 38
Nick Easton 29
Lane Taylor 32
James Carpenter 32
JR Sweezy 32
Senio Kelemete 31
John Miller 28
Austin Blythe 29
Jon Feliciano 29
Elijah Wilkinson 26
Brian Winters 30
Tom Compton 32
Mike Iupati 34
Jermaine Eleumunor 27
Alex Redmond 26
Forrest Lamp 27
Michael Schofield 31

There is also Kyle Long coming out of retirement, and when he was healthy, he was one of the best guards around.

Was scheduled to have a $17.45M cap hit in his final year of a 5 year contract. Only a $3.7M dead cap.

He would have been released even if 21's cap wasn't going down with this back loaded cap deal.

Dana White is desperately trying to get a UFC event scheduled in Texas right now.

He came out saying that the Gov says the state is open, but the Mayor's in each city are refusing so it is all bullshit in the end. Said he would move UFC 260 to TOMORROW if they would let him hold the event with a crowd somewhere in Texas.
