I won't be shocked if he's the second qb off the board within five picks. I think his chances at success get a lot better if he goes to a team that can red shirt him behind a veteran QB for a year. Based on the current order (which is almost certainly going to change), I think the best fits are probably Seattle at #5 and Detroit at #6. |

The Giants should let DJ go, and see if they can grab AR and see if Daboll can work his magic again I like the potential fit of Richardson with the Giants, but the Giants are all the way down at pick #26. I don't see a path for them to move up high enough to get any of the big 4 QBs in this year's draft. |

Via BleacherReport: Aaron Rodgers' $58M Contract 'A Roadblock'; Teams Eye Packers' Help
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler: "Here's the latest, I've had a bunch of calls this morning. The New York Jets are still in it with Aaron Rodgers, but I've talked to multiple teams in the quarterback market right now who say that Aaron Rodgers' $58 million guaranteed money is an issue." "Teams are going to want to rework that or have Green Bay help facilitate, maybe eating some of that money. And so that is a roadblock right now. How willing is Green Bay to try to be flexible and make that money go away a little bit for a new team?" |

Some years it’s as bad as $100m over. They find a way every year. The Saints "find a way" by back-loading contracts on all the wrong players year after year. What they've been doing is almost an NFL equivalent of rolling credit card debt into other credit cards or other debt mechanisms with same/higher interest rates while making minimum payments. They haven't gone into default, but their situation blows. Fielding a roster that bad while being in that deep financially takes next level ineptitude. |

Albert Breer: The Giants and Daniel Jones' agents have closed the financial gap significantly. They met multiple times in Jersey. They'll meet again today in hopes of doing something ahead of Tuesday's franchise-tag deadline.
Mike Garafolo: Possible good sign for the Giants and Daniel Jones: Sources say Jones' agents are traveling to Jersey today to meet with the Giants in person after talking many times at the Scouting Combine. A little more than a day to go before the franchise-tag deadline. Still time. |

Schefter: Cowboys now have placed their franchise tag on RB Tony Pollard, per source. RB franchise tag is $10.09 million.

Mike Silver: "The Packers are exhausted by the combination of Rodgers' high-maintenance persona and what they perceive to have been his low-commitment leadership over the past 12 months. As one high-level Packers source put it to me recently, the days of begging Rodgers to return on his terms - which was essentially the organization's approach during each of the previous two off-seasons - are over. If the 39-year-old quarterback tells his bosses that he wants to return and commit to a single-minded quest for a second championship, they'd be receptive. Anything short of that, however, would leave them less than enthused."
