FOX Sports, Acho: "I'm being nice with this one. From everything I've heard from people within the locker room, and outside the locker room, he just ain't it. He just ain't got it. There's a reason they call him 'one play Trey' and a reason he only started one game. The Niners chose to play Jimmy Garoppolo with a broken thumb over their top-three first-round pick. There's a reason for that."

Chris Simms, speaking about Lamar Jackson not attending OTA's, referencing how Lamar once said he wants to be the Tom Brady of his era, "Brady wouldn't be missing OTAs in year four of his career... Brady didn't miss an OTA until he had played in four Super Bowls."
And Lamar couldn't let it go.

View Quote There was all that criticism (a lot of it from fantasy honks) when the reports were that Shanny did that move to get Mac Jones, and not Lance. Then the draft happened and Shanny was like 'It was Lance all along, don't know what you guys were talking about lol'. Since then I've heard several say he was going to get Jones but but didn't because of the media or internal pressure. One example here. |

On Fox Sports Radio, "2 Pros and a Cup of Joe", talking about Drew Brees being done with NBC and looking to sign on with Fox and him even talking about making a comeback in the NFL.
Former linebacker LaVar Arrington, "He's just not as popular as he thinks he is. He's not as loved as he thinks he is and he acts out when it doesn't go the way he would like for it go. He's reaching out and he's crying out for attention." Former quarterback Brady Quinn, "He's not really wanted by NBC, he's not really wanted by the Saints. What is the current status of the Deebo situation? Last I heard he reportedly wasn't interested in an extension with the 49ers and was demanding to be traded.
Any chance he sits out if he isn't? |

Any chance he sits out if he isn't? View Quote Does he sit out?... I don't know. But he certainly isn't happy and he isn't going to make things easy on the 49ers. Edit: The good news for Deebo is he was a 2nd rounder, so they couldn't 5th year option him. He is set to earn $4M this year on his 4th year. If they don't come to an agreement, the 49ers would have to tag him at around $19-20M for 2023. Double Edit: Early 2023 tag projections say a little over $20M for a wide receiver. Triple Edit: PFF contract projections (updated today) says a reasonable contract for Samuel is 4 years, $100M ($25MPY) with $57.5M guaranteed. They have DK at $26MPY and McLaurin at $23MPY. |

Quoted: Did not go to OTA's, Shanahan said he expects him at the training camp but I think that's a little delusional or just PR/Media talk. Reportedly the 49ers put him at around $19-20M in their offer. He wants more. He also doesn't want to be utilized as the hybrid running back/receiver. He wants to be a RECEIVER. Does he sit out?... One example here. it's like the Jordan Love situation only 10 times more expensive. I'm pretty sure you're just poking fun at us Packer fans (), but... IMO, because it was 10x more expensive the kind of move SF did is 1000% saying "we're going in a different direction" while GB's was more of "We want the option to go in a different direction if necessary." Especially when you look at the starting QB's for the team. GB has an elite future HoF'er that is/was getting up there in age and hadn't yet had these back to back MVP seasons. SF had a fairly young guy in Jimmy G who was good enough to get them into the SB just 2 years prior, and the only real knock on him is his injuries. The fact that they haven't been pushing Lance probably isn't great considering how much they gambled on him. In comparison, it almost makes GB's gamble look completely reasonable. |

ESPN has ranked the Seattle Seahawks as having the worst off-season in the NFL.
TLR: Kept Pete Carroll while losing Russell Wilson. Didn't get enough for Wilson in the deal. Seem to have no long term quarterback plan. Stayed committed to two injury plagued running backs. Wasted a 2nd round pick on a RB when they are desperate in other places. Gave Dissley (TE) a lot of money for a guy who doesn't produce much. IMO you can include having two of the highest paid (over paid) safeties in the NFL while still having a very underpaid and poorly performing offensive line. |
