I've read a few places that he was peacefully pushing his wife's chair when he was shot in cold blood. That part is now clearly bullshit.
I live in Austin and I'll say this, Travis county is going to be a damn tough place for the driver to get a fair trial. Sorry but I think he's going down. |

It's far harder to conceive of a scenario playing out where the rifle equipped pedestrian misses 5 shots at point blank on a stopped vehicle, then several seconds of delay while he stands there aiming, before the driver speeds off and scores fatal hits while shooting over his left shoulder. Just because someone shoots a protestor in the road does not make it a good shoot. My money would be that the driver probably panicked, realized he was blocked in, and then saw Garrett coming towards him with the rifle out. Driver feared for his life, and shot first then unassed the area. Medic sees Garrett getting shot, and decides to open fire in defense of Garrett. Murder charges get filed, and everything becomes an unguessable mess as this gets added to the stack of messy cases that have piled up in the past few months, and subject mostly to biased reporting and biased prosecutions. It was pretty clear that rifle shots rang out first. The news is also stating this. You are spinning this into BS it is not. (devils advocate here) Since when is the news actually fairly reporting facts? (tin foil hat ON) "you see this effort to make the white man with the rifle look bad is is all actually a gun control, they wanna ban people from owning rifles, particularly scary AR type baby killer rifles..."

I never rated on him but we were on the same shift together in the same section and AMU. So that in a sense makes him one of the Airmen I led. Back then I was a SSgt and he was an A1C. Nice kid but he was kind of lazy and just couldn't quite figure out AF life. One night I had to go back to his dorm room at 1am because he'd been cut back at 10pm but still had a tool out in his name that no one knew where it was. I think he wound up getting kicked out for PT. Still though even if he was way in the wrong here is fucking crazy. Then again I could write a book about all the crazy shit and people I've encountered in 16yrs playing Air Force |
