Alec Baldwin as Jack Ryan Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones Gregory Peck as General Savage in Twelve O'Clock High Jackie Gleason as Sheriff Justice in Smokey and the Bandit Tom Cruise as Nathan Algren in The Last Samurai Morgan Freeman as Red in The Shawshank Redemption (Although the character in the book is a redheaded Irishman I think Freeman makes the movie, as well as a much better Red, with his performance) Clint Eastwood as Gunny Highway in Heartbreak Ridge I know in GD it is really popular to hate Hollywood and rant and rave about Hollywood Libs but there is no denying that over the years they have turned out MANY stellar movies. |

Went through the first couple pages and all my picks have been named already. Tony Soprano was going to be my #1 then I had a few more.
One that may not have been mentioned, but I still think is underrated was Dwight Yoakam as Doyle in Sling Blade. Doyle was such a perfect asshole stepdad archetype; he totally nailed it. Fuck Doyle! |

Ian McShane as Al Swearingen and Garrett Dillihunt as both his characters in Deadwood. I don’t know that I could be civil with Dillihunt if I met him due to his portrayal of Wolcott.
Really the whole cast killed it, though. |
