Juxtaposed to American women literally shaking because someone 'mansplained' something to them today and oppressed them. |

You'd be surprised at the amount of bravery, and patriotism coming out of SOME Afghans.
For those that don't know, Panjshir is majority Tajik. They've never been friends of the Taliban/AQ. Afghans aren't a monolithic group. You have pashtuns, tajiks, hazaras, Persians, people that look like they stepped right out of Alexander the Greats phalanx formations. Attached File That's a picture of rural Afghan women. See any niqabs? |

Quoted: If say, a year or so ago, a US soldier had shot up a car and killed an Afghan citizen who posed no obvious immediate threat... and tried to justify it with "I don't know who he was, but I think I saw him at a house that I heard was an ISIS safe house... and later on I think I saw him loading stuff into his car. Might have been bombs." ... would that have been ok? Or would the government have thrown the book at him for basically committing a retarded war crime? I guess its different when the President orders it. View Quote I dislike the ROE arguments, basically because the ROE was always what it was, but local commanders made it more restrictive to avoid potentially having to explain why their troops at war did warlike things. These commanders were/are pussies. Had a soldier done what you describe, with no clear threat and no ability to articulate a need for lethal force against noncombatants, he would have been in handcuffs. |

Nobody can. This is the world that many on here want though or at least it’s the world many on here think that they want. There is some irony in the fact that Trump wanted the world to be less reliant on the US, and not just ASSUME that the US would always be there to rescue them, and wanted them to spend more on their own defense - and Biden has probably accomplished that goal much more effectively than anything Trump did. |

View Quote The obvious problem was that we needed allies capable of self-defense, in order to allow US forces to flow effectively into their theater of operations. If you look at our recent MCO buildups, we didn't force entry; we flowed into mature theaters with local forces capable of protection and sustainment while we uncoiled. Asking our European neighbors to be able to do the same as Saudi, Korean or Japanese allies wasn't and isn't a tall order. It was the basis for a security bilateral. The actions of the Administration are a security unravel. |

Ex-Obama CIA Head: Biden Actions ‘Inspired Jihadists All Over World,’ Taliban ‘Harboring Al-Qaeda’ Now
Michael Morell, former President Barack Obama’s Acting CIA Director, said during a CBS News interview on Sunday that the Biden administration’s actions in Afghanistan have “inspired jihadists” all over the world and that the Taliban is already back to harboring al-Qaeda. Morell responded to the news that Ayman al-Zawahiri, the head of al-Qaeda, had issued a video on the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks when asked by host Margaret Brennan if al-Zawahiri was living in Afghanistan, as a U.N. report recently said. “We think so, which means that the Taliban is harboring Zawahiri today,” Morell said. “The Taliban is harboring al-Qaeda today. And I think that’s a very important point.” https://www.dailywire.com/news/ex-obama-cia-head-biden-actions-inspired-jihadists-all-over-world-taliban-harboring-al-qaeda-now |
