Those factors drive revenue, why wouldn't it affect pay? It's ok for DW to eat that cost, but Crowder can't?

Also, why can't Crowder just build his own thing so we don't have to go through this drama every few years?
View Quote

Building your own CDN that can supply (live video) to hundreds of thousands of people at the same time is extremely costly and takes a long time to build up.

DW didn't build their own content platform until they had been around for many years and they had billionaires backing them from the start.

He would also need to find people to fill time slots for when his show isn't on. Makes no sense to build something like that out for one show.

Then you run into issues around paying those people and monetizing their content. I don't think he wants to get involved in running a whole conglomerate of other people's shows.

When an NFL football team signs on a new QB, they don't write into that contract that if you lose X games, or throw X interceptions, we reduce your pay by X amount.

How this company *should* do it is to give him a guaranteed base and write incentives into it if certain metrics are met.

The NFL has incentives and performance bonuses.

NFL contracts state how the contract is void if you get canceled for wrongspeak.

Your comparison works against you more than for you.

Compensation is tied to performance aka revenue.

Eh. The difference is these contracts as he pointed out basically allow social media companies to decide how much conservative personalities get paid.

Having a base salary plus performance incentives isn't quite the same thing as saying a random NFL player could get 5% of their pay because a 3rd party changed the rules mid-game.

Look at what's been going on the Twitter files and how politicians and companies like Pfizer were having people banned or content taken down. The contract he showed basically forces right wing people to abide by left wing rules and self-censor when these same organizations are touting themselves as fighting censorship. That's the hypocritical side he was exposing in the industry.

That's the same rule DW has to play by.

DW dropped What Is A Woman on gay pride week last year. They take chances, but that shit they do on their own platform where it doesn't cost money.

Considering how heavily the government puts their hand on the scales via social media and psyops, it shouldn’t surprise you at all.

Regardless, conservatism has a fundamental problem with content creation. Because it’s novel. Conservatives don’t like novel things until they prove utility.

They edit (self-censor) videos to comply with YouTube's rules. Crowder got in trouble because his daily shows are live so whatever comes out is what's on YouTube.

He mentions in the video that The Blaze wasn't the focus of his commentary.

Pretty much everything he's mentioned thus far points fingers at The Daily Wire. He comments on the insane amount of adds (up to seven per show), mentions younger talent being conned into accepting these deals (Brett Cooper, Candace Owens, etc?), and even mentions the ridiculous sponsorship adds for reverse mortgages, gold, or pocket catheters. I know there are a decent amount of these "conservative" programs and networks out there now that work this way, but when you pick apart the video as a whole, it's pretty obvious who he's talking about. It's not Fox either, because Steven has openly stated on this show many times how corrupt Fox News is behind the scenes. He was involved with Fox very early on and has had nothing good to say about them since.

For those thinking this isn't about The Daily Wire, maybe stop and consider this, if you haven't already.

Steven has held a good enough relationship with The Daily Wire, or at least with most of the people currently there, that it stands to reason that he'd almost certainly be sure to clear them from the drama if it wasn't them he was specifically talking about, right? If it is The Daily Wire he's talking about, would it be wise to immediately name drop them? I mean, Ben is a Lawyer after all, and he was also Steven's lawyer for a short time as well. Mix all of that in with the obvious advantage the Daily Wire has over Crowder from a financial standpoint, and it seems to paint a pretty good picture as to the reason behind Crowder not naming names just yet.

As a side note: I watched Tim Pool's content a little tonight. Tim mentioned that he's also had offers from The Daily Wire, as well as others. I find that interesting by itself.

Dailywire still has a ton of good stuff in one place.
I hope Crowder sat down with them and made a point by point argument ..before making his public comments on it.
I will say..the man seems to shoot from the hip more often then not.
Almost self sabotaging at times.
Seems to be running too hot as of late and venting the extra steam.
It almost sounded like faint regret that he left The Blaze...maybe they were the best contract in town and he burned the bridge.

Dude loves drama, but my major complaint is consistency. If Rumble says the show starts at 10:10 eastern, start the damned show on time. If you have shows M-Th, have a damned show M-Th. This is the main reason I never joined Mug Club. You never know if or when he's gonna have a show.

Ostensibly, Daily Wire is “building a conservative movement” they don’t need social media platforms for money because they have subscribers. But in his contract if Crowder was ever banned from YouTube he loses 20% of his contract, another 20% from apple podcast, 10% from Spotify, 10% from Facebook. So 40% of his money is gone overnight for being deplatformed, something Jeremy and Shapiro are “fighting against”

It may or may not be Daily Wire. He may be talking about Bongino's network. Or the former EIB. It doesn't matter. What he's saying is that the "conservative" content you're getting from the big "conservative" networks has been watered down for the sake of profits. They're pulling punches and not talking about things they should be, if they were actually serious about fighting the left for control of the country.

Meanwhile, they're convincing people to pay them for subscriptions, and buy the products advertised on their shows, because they're "fighting the left."

The left IS fighting for control of the country, and the media is their biggest weapon. The left's "big media" doesn't care about profits, and they're winning. Meanwhile the right is making a bunch of money off conservatives by saying they're fighting, but really they're doing just enough to make it look like they're fighting. Their primary goal is profit, not the future of the country.

I keep saying it: they've weaponized freedom and the free market against conservatives. And it's working perfectly.

The NFL contract analogy gives control to the two parties who enter into the contract.  The Crowder contract is nebulous, vague and leaves a third party that isn't part of it with control over Crowder's fate.

Everybody needs to stop focusing on the terms of the contract. The fairness, or legality, or ethics, of the terms of the contract are not the issue here. The issue is that the company offering that contract is taking money from conservatives by claimong to be fighting the left. The existence of that contract proves that they are intentionally throwing the fight. They are scamming us. That's the issue we should be focused on.

If a company says they'll punish/fine/fire you for hurting the feelings of leftists (aka violating YouTube or Facebook terms for "hate speech or whatever"), then they're part of the problem too.

Breitbart seems to do a decent job of not just saying what you want to hear, but actually fighting for what you believe in (a paraphrased Breitbart quote there), so why is it so hard for these guys?

Is that so hard to understand?

He reads from a contract offer by an “unnamed big conservative media company” and it basically details if he gets demonetized or doesn’t read ads he is fined a ridiculous amount of money. Basically proving Daily Wire is doing all the things they said was wrong with conservative media.

Edit: Meat and potatoes starts at the 8 minute mark.

Edit 2: This was written in his contract offer:
