Of course they had no problem supplying support for the Finns while they fought the Russians and allowed German transport trains to move troops and equipment through Sweden to both Finland (a German Ally) and to Norway (a German Occupied country). They also sold Iron Ore to Germany throughout the war, and allowed German troops on leave to pass through Sweden. Only as the tide of the war turned did Sweden really begin to make more favorable concessions to the Allies, as Germany was weakened. Sweden sat out the two biggest blood bath's of the 20th Century. They made deals that kept them out of the war and appeared to be more afraid of Soviet Communism than Nazi Socialism. |
