We'll see. I really doubt it. I think we'll see more Sunni-Shia violence in the near term. Looks like the Far Enemy camp is in decline, for the time being.

Doesn't really matter, though. The US isn't using African and Arab immigration to prop up our welfare state.

Gitmo ain't a recruiting tool of any real import to islamists. No one is out in the streets saying 'Abdullah, the US is capturing high value Al-Qaeda members and holding them in Guantanamo, come fight!' I mean, thats just laughable.

Gitmo is a source of indigestion on the left, particularly in Europe, because the concept of indefinite detention really gets their dander up.

The problem is that the indefinite detention is a source of embarrassment for the US, and it will continue as long as the prisoners remain.

It would have been better to interrogate them in secret, and then simply kill them. Instead you're pretty much stuck with them now.

Do.  Not.  Care.

It gets Americans killed whether you care or not.

You seriously cannot believe that. You are not that naieve.

Wahabbists would find another reason to kill Americans.

Not all Muslims are Wahabists, yet.

Correct. Yet only one of those listed groups (granted one is a subset of the other) would like to saw my head off with a dull machete.

CNN reported this morning that the DOD did a brigade wide non-disclosure for Bowe Bergdahl's unit. Admiral Mullen personally flew over to Astan 2 weeks after he disappeared and met with the Bowe Bergdahl's unit instructing them to remain silent. The reporters stated it was 'UnAmerican' -- this was on CNN this morning. I counld not believe my ears.

Plus. You have Senators and Congressmen stating today that the military purposely kept the Bowe Bergdahl's farewell note out of the intelligence file they were provided.

Hence why I phrased it as I did. I'll take the Mexicans over our other options. Its sub-optimal, to be sure. But, its not existential. There are just not enough Poles with families to go around. We just don't import the correct Mexicans. The reality is that for the corruption, centered around DF, Mexico could look like Canada in three generations.

Canada and Amsterdam are going to look like Rabat in three generations.

But, that can't be, they continually tell us that they are the guardians of all that is traditional in America, protectors of our common values, that they care about the middle class, about capitalism. And let's not forget dumbass Senator Claire McCaskill saying the objections to the trade by the GOP are strictly political and without merit.

Chambliss: 'Classified File on Bergdahl Leaves Questions Unanswered'

The Senate Intelligence Committee met behind closed doors today, less than 24 hours after Fox News confirmed that there is a classified file on Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Some members of the intelligence community reportedly have concerns that Bergdahl not only deserted his unit in Afghanistan, but may have been an active collaborator with the enemy.
View Quote

Tonight on The Kelly File, Megyn spoke to Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), vice chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

There are reports that Bergdahl wrote a note the night he left his unit expressing disillusionment with the Army and being an American. Sen. Chambliss, who read the Army’s classified file on Bergdahl, said the letter was not mentioned in it.

And how many American soldiers are buried in European soil because of the "mess" you Europeans caused with World Wars I & II? How many tens of thousands of lives? In a war thousands of miles away from our own land? In wars we could have avoided, but chose not to?

Sweden had a policy of neutrality since sometime in the 1800's and sat out World War I and II.  Of course they had no problem supplying support for the Finns while they fought the Russians and allowed German transport trains to move troops and equipment through Sweden to both Finland (a German Ally) and to Norway (a German Occupied country).  They also sold Iron Ore to Germany throughout the war, and allowed German troops on leave to pass through Sweden.  Only as the tide of the war turned did Sweden really begin to make more favorable concessions to the Allies, as Germany was weakened.

Sweden sat out the two biggest blood bath's of the 20th Century.  They made deals that kept them out of the war and appeared to be more afraid of Soviet Communism than Nazi Socialism.

I seem to recall plenty of Americans getting killed by radical islamists before there was ever a Gitmo. In fact, we set up Gitmo precisely because there were so many Americans dead at islamist hands that we were pretty much forced to go hunt them down to interrupt other plans to kill Americans.

Executing terrorists isn't "illegal", either. We could very easily have tried them and executed them like we did Germans and Japanese in WW2.

As it stands, Gitmo is a valuable propaganda tool for anyone who hates the US. To Al Qaida it's the gift that keeps on giving.

It's short sighted and counter productive to keep them. Now the problem won't go away.

Bull.  F*cking.  Sh*t.

They hated us before Gitmo, and they'll hate us LONG after it's eventually closed.  For Christ's sweet sake, they're still blaming us for the friggin' Crusades.  The only thing you can do with people that heavily invested is to kill them.

Preferably as quickly as possible, and in as great of numbers as possible.

And that's just the ugly truth.  I refuse to play the "why do they hate us??" game... that's for suckers.

Despite the group think in GD, not all Muslims hate the US.

What a joke that is.  While they me not be  as overt as the Taliban, You don't see too many of them condemning all the acts of terrorism that has been going on all these years..

Religion of peace and all that.

Of course you have the right to be a sanctimonious  know it all Swede who has all this locked in so you can educate us poor dumb Americans on how we should prosecute the GWOT. You live where??

You make the same mistake the Liberals do in thinking that our enemies  actually use rational thought and use logic and reason...But enjoy delivering the message in a pompous, self righteous way that makes you feel superior...

This is no different then a war on Bugs... You kill more of them then they kill of us and we win.... it's that simple.

Britain will find out in another 25 years, when you see Minarets above Buckingham Palace....And they will have given away all the tools to do anything about it...like most of western Europe.(My only hope is the Germans)

I don't have to call anyone stupid. Your post just proved it far better than I ever would.
