They're pretty open about it. This is the cheap way of dealing with them, because they won't stop and eventually will end up causing a bigger mess and more expensive price. They’ve seen the threat, knew it was coming and had at least 20 years to prepare, but as always it falls on Uncle Sugar and by extension the American tax payer to foot the bill. With the exception of Poland none of the European countries have done a darn thing to prepare, and that includes Ukraine, who above all others should have been ready. |

You believe the money is all going to the right thing, no corruption? Money well spent? Couple trillion in tax dollars. Do you believe in the tooth fairy too? What's our national debt again?! I'm sure the same folks that got us in this debt are doing the right thing here. Many of which are somehow worth millions after a lifetime in politics. You guys are unreal. |

Yet we can’t afford to hire armed security to put in schools to minimize shootings. I don’t mean a 350 pound deputy like the one at my kids school who stays in his truck with the AC cranked up 99% of the day.

That logic would work if Ukraine was actually winning, but they are not. Actually by this logic Ukraine winning is irrelevant, what matters is if Russia's military is depleted sufficiently to render them incapable of invading neighbors for a generation. It's not there yet, but that outcome certainly is possible given how deep Russia is having to dig into it's cold war leftovers. |

Way to reduce a rather complex issue into a worthless dollar figure.
But I guess it makes it easy for windowlickers to “converse” on the subject. |

Quoted: And you don't think $900 is a cheap price to absolutely destroy the Russian military? View Quote Unlike Ukraine Russia has a large domestic military industry and they can make their own stuff to replace their losses. And before you say "but muh sanctions!" it's becoming obvious that with the help of the Chinese, Indians, and other countries, they're evading sanctions and getting US-made parts without a problem . So at this point my $900 hasn't bought me anything but a higher national debt and increased chances of a worldwide war. We're at about the 1964 point in the Viet Nam War , where it became obvious the South Vietnamese couldn't cut the mustard but our leaders promised if we just gave more support victory would be around the corner. How much more do you want to spend? |

One thing I will give the Russians credit for, is they are, and always have been, very good at disinformation.
The switch in so many conservatives is a real alternate-universe head trip. A country that has spent the last 80 years actively threatening and creating war around the world is getting it's ass handed to it by a country everybody thought would roll over in a few days. Russian war doctrine is straight out of the middle ages. Brutality, rape, murder - it's standard practice. There are dozens of confirmed cases in Bucha where kids 12 years old and younger were raped repeatedly and murdered. The conservatives and republicans that have always stood against this brutality are now ignoring it because FJB!!! If Trump were to suddenly support Ukraine, GD would explode with the sudden switch in sides. If you want an economic argument, the money and gear spent on Ukraine is literally a drop in the bucket compared to cold war spending. There is another cold war ramping up, and it's with China. Leaving Ukraine to be butchered by the Russians would embolden China more than anything else we could do. GD complains about China treating us like their bitch, what do you think they would do if we suddenly acted like Russia's bitch? If you want to make a moral argument against helping Ukraine, you just can't. There's nothing moral about watching the little kid on the playground get abused when you're one of the big kids. Ukraine was strong armed into giving up most of their military with a promise to protect them. We aren't sending our soldiers to die on their battlefields (and we won't). Ukraine doesn't want our soldiers on their battlefields either, just the ammo to fight their own battles. It's a freaking win-win economically and morally. |

We should just let the Russians have an easy win, that way we can have another cold war and the limited wars that went with it, we didn't spend THAT much in Vietnam or Korea, and it does't cost THAT much to build those v wing stealth bombers ($203 billion for a fleet of 100 B-21s) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_Grumman_B-21_Raider or all the other costs that will go into fighting a resurgent Soviet Union fresh off an easy win in Ukraine.
