Not a hater, but I sure did!! Wish I had had the money to buy LOTS of Apple stock when it was under $9 years ago!!

[don't own an Apple product and don't care too]

He didn't pay himself $1 a year salary because he was a good person. He did it to avoid the heavy income tax burden and I most of his money came from stocks where he would only pay the capital gains tax. It's actually quite common for people who own companies to do this sort of thing. Warren Buffet only pays himself a 100k  but he didn't get to be worth tens of billions by smartly investing that 100k a year.

Sure he was a CEO of a big company, but if the CEO of Conoco Phillips were to kick the bucket tomorrow I'd probably say RIP then get on with the day. Maybe its because I never owned an Apple product, so I guess he never changed my world.

Now Gates, he changed the world.

The CEO of Conoco Phillips didn't start CP in his garage, and change the way people used technology in the span of his adult life.

As for Gates, he was no different than Jobs in most respects, except he was a bigger asshole.
Gates didn't 'invent' anything either. MSDOS was a sham when he sold it to IBM. Windows was a crappy, buggy reversed engineered copy of the original Apple GUI (Which was a well done theft of the GUI that TI had been working on) ,which Gates stole through very underhanded business practices.

And there is a lot more negative stuff that can be said about Gates and MS, but I'll leave it at that..

Zap....you've got to know I didn't "hate" the guy.  I'm only pointing out some stuff the liberal media is not putting out about Jobs during this love fest they are pushing; yes it was deliberately inflammatory, for that I apologize.

Have you noticed how they are linking up Jobs to Ombama ad nauseum?  It's sickenly hypocritical too!  This is the poster boy for the term "Millionaires and Billionaires"  and they are using his as an icon?  I've been following Jobs since he came back to Apple and I admire the man for his discipline and skills as a business man, I part company with the sycophants when they start talking about how he "changed the world"

Your last post: you know I think you're aces and from what I'm reading into that post; I doubt you denied as Jobs did; I also doubt you dropped acid and gave tons of money to libs

I think this article sums up most of the arfkom sentiment on iJobs and his tyrannical business behaviour.  Who knows, maybe someone from the future came back to terminate him ala John Connor.

Why Richard M Stallman Is Right About Steve Jobs

"Steve Jobs, the pioneer of the computer as a jail made cool, designed to sever fools from their freedom, has died.

As Chicago Mayor Harold Washington said of the corrupt former Mayor Daley, "I'm not glad he's dead, but I'm glad he's gone." Nobody deserves to have to die - not Jobs, not Mr. Bill, not even people guilty of bigger evils than theirs. But we all deserve the end of Jobs' malign influence on people's computing.

Unfortunately, that influence continues despite his absence. We can only hope his successors, as they attempt to carry on his legacy, will be less effective."

+1  Like it or not he was a visionary inventor and businessman.  Sure he had some quirks and yes he was a liberal but what he produced in his life time is far beyond what anyone on ARFCOM ever even attempted.  His legacy will go on for a long time to come.  He was the epitome of the American entrepreneurial spirit and a national treasure.
