BUT, a lot of people won't, and it'll only harden the "this place is going down the toilet" sentiment.

So chances are I pay, others don't and leave, and then this place actually does go down the toilet.

I'm not sure... This website is much more than just GD to me. There are a lot of good resources here, and it's a wealth of information - much of which has value to me.

We all wish for the "good old days". Nevertheless, the winds of change are blowing here, just as they are everywhere in life. If you see value, stay. If not... Well... Bye.

Well the problem with new owners is they can do what ever they want to do. Example, if they want they can deny all the life-time memberships by just stating that the life-time ended when they sold the website. Now with a new owner comes with new rules aka no life-time memberships and allow the powderpuff girls ~~over-moderate~~ to run the site into the ground. They benefit zero by having to honor the life-time membership so why keep them. They could generate an alternate income stream by reselling life-time memberships should they want. Or they can just cancel them AND up the cost of the Team Memberships as well.

What are you going to do? You will either pay, be poor someplace else, or gtfo and go to TOS.
