My personal EDC load is 115 xtp's on top of 5.7gr cfe pistol and cci 500 primers, getting around 1180fps out of my 365. |

Why does Speer Gold Dot cost so much more than Federal HST? On AmmoSeek HST starts in the $0.20/round range while Gold Dot is in the $0.70/round area and quickly goes up from there. What gives?
Nice to be able to get a case of a thousand 147gr FMJ rounds for less than $250 though |

I generally carry a Ruger SP101 loaded with 158 gr handloads loaded to ~1200 fps. out of a 2.25" bbl. They'll generally shoot lenghthwise through a Buick. I like them.

I've carried Federal 124 grain HSTs in all my 9mm carry guns for years now but recently went to Underwood Extreme Defender Platinum 90 grain +P+ solids for my traveling gun, a G26.3 I built from a stripped frame. All others still have the HSTs in them and their mags.
I'm a firm believer that shot placement is the single most important factor in handgun stops and anything except RN ammo will likely work. It's my funeral if I'm wrong. On the rare occasions when I'm carrying my 442, it's the Speer .38 Special Gold Dot Short Barrel 135 grain +P JHPs. .357 Magnum, any quality 125 grain JHP. .44 Magnum, 240 grain Keith SWC (as this is primarily a woods walking gun). .45 ACP Golden Sabre 185 grain +P .380 ACP Remington 95 grain Flat Point FMJ |

Hornady will be hard pressed to match the cost of a powder coated lead bullet  Other than the 95gr Armscor FMJs I load for .380, I’ve only loaded plated or powder coated lead for plinking and match use in pistol calibers for the last ~5yrs. The cost difference is significant when you’re shooting and loading 2-5k every year. |

All my match ammo was subs for suppressed PCCs and I just used the same load in my pistols. |
