Despite the list of things I'm not allowed to do with this knife testing corrosion resistance by making a ton of Moscow Mules is not one of them

To be honest either is the person who owns it. He originally told me he was buying the F3R but I guess it sold out so he bought the Hati. He's more of a Strider and Emerson kind of guy so he doesn't get the crazy internal milling (I'll take a picture tomorrow), the almost full grind (he probably wishes it was wrong side chisel ground), or the weight. She's a big bitch, bigger than my sweet spot for sure but still pretty light. He says it feels like a toy.

Originally I was borrowing it to sharpen it because he says all factory grinds suck but it's sharp as fuck like my Neon. I ended up stabbing myself with it while cutting a lime up super thin and it is pretty damned sharp.

Says the guy with an HK OTF  That's the corny kind of thing I'd expect in an LA Police Gear mystery bag

There's a couple I've seen where I just didn't like something in  the milling but aside from little things they've all got nice lines, they use a lot of cool steels, the intricacies  of the internal  milling, the MRBS, DRRBS (I still haven't felt one yet) and heavy use of Ti make them right up my alley

ETA: Truth be told I had always wanted to check one out so I snatched this one up for the right price.  I know OTFs aren't necessarily made for heavy duty work, but this one is a lot more slender than I thought it would be.  Nice action, feels good in the hand, but probably can't do much more than open mail with it. So either I will have an expensive letter opener or pass it along.

That is crazy.

I'm sure it's a secret but if you can share a little on how you'd even start to build that pattern would be interesting.

I'm thinking you would build it in a small cannister out of thin but long pieces, forge weld it cut it into sections then put those into another weld.

I recently picked this knife up from a friend who had purchased it from a retired SEAL a few years ago.  This is a sterile prototype Mission Knives MPK-TI from the early 1990's and was used in the NSW testing for a new SEAL knife.  The knife came with 2 sharpeners - a prototype and an issued sharpener.  Even though the MPK-TI knife came with a sheath from the factory, the SEALs requested Mad Dog sheaths.

If you know the history between Mad Dog and Mission Knives, having Mad Dog make a sheath for an MPK is a near impossible task, but the SEALs were successful with their request.  In addition to the knife, I also received a ton of paperwork from the 1993 knife trials, which contain firsthand reviews of the MPK-TI knives written by SEALs who used the knives in the field.  My knife looks new, it somehow escaped testing unharmed.  This is an extremely rare set, probably unique, and these documents have never been shown publicly before now.
