If you know the history between Mad Dog and Mission Knives, having Mad Dog make a sheath for an MPK is a near impossible task, but the SEALs were successful with their request.  In addition to the knife, I also received a ton of paperwork from the 1993 knife trials, which contain firsthand reviews of the MPK-TI knives written by SEALs who used the knives in the field.  My knife looks new, it somehow escaped testing unharmed.  This is an extremely rare set, probably unique, and these documents have never been shown publicly before now.

Found it for a price I couldn’t pass up. Really really digging it so far.

Looks like Saturday now. Apparently it needs to go a state or two further away from me before it comes my way. Based off the pictures and then the bomb ass description of the thing in regards to materials used, I cant hardly wait that long.

This is too cool. I'd have believed you with just the story and thought it was cool. But having the paperwork to go with the story makes it a treasure.

Here was my haul from July -

I think that’s just the way it worked out vs who can get one and who can’t. Or maybe I payed extra to get in line in front of you.

It is super nice and I love it. I kinda meant to gift it, but think I’m going to keep it now that I’ve had it in the hand. If he doesn’t pop in with its specs, I’ll relay them.

Here's kind of a "junkyard" build I started working on.

It's all leftover stuff from other knives or projects.

The handles are peel-ply g10 leftover from the orange Kershaw"needs work" that I posted a while back.

The blade is 1095 leftover from a couple of fixed blades from way back.(never finished them, maybe I'll get around to them someday)

The back spacer is from a broken crkt m16

The stop pin is the pivot from a broken Gerber Bear grills knife.

I'm going to try a "backyard" heat treat on the blade, hoping for a "good enough" HT for pocket knife duty.(any tips for this would be awesome)

I'm trying to finish this up soon, because I'd like to take it on my trip to Germany that's coming up.  Their knife laws suck.  As I understand it, You can have a locking knife, or a knife that opens one handed, but not both.Attachment Attached File

ETA: I ruined the blade today.  I got too fussy chasing the hollow grind on one side and it got too thin at the tip.  I have the replacement blade started.  I'm not sure if I'll try the hollow grind again.(who am I kidding, I think a hollow ground wharncliff looks too cool to not try it again. Lol)

@WICOUNSEL

She can be a real handful when it comes to my knives. About 15 years ago we were working my table at a knife show. All of my stuff was very nice but she had her eye on one of the pieces I thought would sell first. She kept pestering me about it and I finally had had enough and told her the only way she was getting that knife is paying me the price as marked. A short time later a fellow walks up to the table and looks over my stuff. He decides on one and pulls out cash. My wife holds out her hand and the guy gives her the cash. He leaves the table happy. My wife picks up the knife she has been pestering me about, hands me the cash and says "I'm buying this knife".

It's nothing compared to the high dollar stuff some of you guys are posting, but I got a deal on an Izula and took the gawdy blue paracord off the handle and replaced it with something more low key...
