Yep. You weren't interested at that time. I did post a link to that same one being sold again for a really good price a few days ago too. $785 I think.
I noticed this one actually has slight lock rock. I've emailed tom@shiro about it. With no COA I think it has to go back to Russia. Going to end up not being such a great deal after all. |

I think I sent it in to replace the glass. It took them 6 months to get it back to me. The only Skagen dealer I could find was a kiosk in the local mall so I figured it would be easier to use them. After a couple months I go there and try to find out what was going on and they didn't have a record of it. Eventually they found/tracked it. |

For intermittent or limited use, yes, a cheap suit from Kohl's (w i s c o n s i n) that has been tailored may be totally in order. The tailoring is important on a suit. It hangs so much better just with little changes. This presents noticeably better and is more comfortable for the wearer. However, cheaper suits are typically made with cheaper materials. For regular use, a good worsted wool or silk is really better and typically not available at non suit stores. Out of necessity my suit collection has grown over the years and I can honestly say my suits or more comfortable and have better temperature regulation than my regular dress clothes. It's the right tool for the job. Maybe a little parable is in order for a non suit person who doesn't fully appreciate why anyone would spend more than $100 on a suit. When I was a contractor I would use a hammer all day long. Generally. When we were framing I would use my Paslode, but I would still need to swing a hammer a lot and sometimes before the generator would get there or electric was run, I would need to swing that hammer all day. So the search ensued for the perfect hammer. I had Estwings, and they worked, but by the end of the day, they would wear on you. None of them was more than $30 I don't think. (there are many more options for hammers now than there were back in the day at various price points). Tried a few different ones. None grabbed me. Then I found Stiletto. 14oz titanium head California framer handle, when swung had the force of a 24oz steel head. I could swing that thing all day long, drive the nails straighter with fewer swings and still have an arm at the end of the day. It was like an extension of my hand, felt so natural. IIRC it was $80-90, which at the time struck me as a lot for a hammer, but damn if it wasn't worth it. I'm sure most of the guys here can appreciate having the right tool for the job. Suit is the same thing. You need to look the part, you need to be comfortable. There isn't one type for everyone, there is a spectrum. That doesn't mean it has to be super expensive. Just like with our shiny knives, there is a point of diminishing returns unless there is something special about the item that really speaks to you or a visually appreciable difference. I don't think any of my suits are more than $350-400. You obviously know all this though, I am responding more to others here who I know are wondering why. https://i.imgur.com/uNzv1Z1.jpg Thank you for proving my point. Every time I’ve been to Mexico, Valentina is the only table hot sauce I see in restaurants or with locals. I’d say it’s the Mexican standard just like French’s mustard is in every American’s fridge. The orange/yellow label compares to a mild del taco or Taco Bell sauce. Essentially no heat, just a sauce with slight bite. I like the black label Valentina for elotes and mixing in with soups. A Mexican friend of mine drinks Victoria beer and dumps 2 or 3 tablespoons of black Valentina in it. Nasty, but he likes it. |

Perfection. Olive oil & butter, salt, a slight drizzle of maple syrup and a hint of black pepper. Slow roasted at 300 for 45 minutes (one layer - I combined two trays for the pic.
