It's also a support group so there has to be some talking.

Plus I was out drinking all day so it's hard to push content.

They're going to be stuck there with me.

Dinner:
Attachment Attached File

Novelty size lobster tail, wagyu NY strip and a grass fed ribeye from our last half cow in Washington. For a side we have a top round steak from the same cow as the ribeye.

This is where I tapped out:

The plating was shit but we're not trying to impress anyone. We ran out of paper plates yesterday, otherwise we'd have used those. At least we had custom knives

Steak and fancy food like lobster tastes all the better in a rustic setting. Looks like a great feast!

In addition to filet knives, Opinel make a mushroom knife with a little brush to clean off debris. My wife is particularly slack about that, so she got the honor of christening it, and took to it. This was a very thoughtful gift. Appalachian was doing Appalachia stuff too.

Just half of them (wife's bag), simply served with scrambled eggs & toast tonight. I'll grab a steak for the rest tomorrow.

Actually got this primarily for mushrooms too, but decided to take a peek at that kitchen knife edge because my wife has started using it (this is just held up to the phone - works much better in hand). VG10.

WOW that is an amazing haul!!
Remarkably convenient spot in the woods across from my office - those were all in a 30' x 30' area, but there aren't any more nearby so it is one and done in like 20min.

This was with a group of students on Edisto. They didn't listen about keeping them clean and the sandy soils just always leave some grit, but wow.

A colleague has the record though - this was under three large oak trees on a little hill in her back yard in town. I got called in to check the ID and left with a few bags.

Oh, and I forgot until I saw the pic again that they gave me a Modelo or three too

Looks about right.

My wife loves to twist and turn the knife on the cutting board, then use the edge, not the back, to swipe the food off of it.

She doesn't like when I watch her cut food because she says I make faces.

She's undoubtedly correct.
