Transformers and Lego nerd checking in.

My parents were refugees from Vietnam who came here with just the clothes on their backs. Needless to say we didn't get many toys. So when I grew up, I said the hell with it and bought some for my myself and my kids.

I picked up this at a motorcycle dealer the other day. Hadn't seen many detailed die cast models of modern bikes like I have in a while. 1:12 scale and pretty nice for the money. I might start buying some more of these. Especially the MotoGP bikes.

A lot of these purchases are as investments. There's an entire industry of people flipping toys on eBay; Legos, Funkos, Hotwheels, Pokemon. I question the stability of such investments, you're basically counting on people with disposable income, but to each their own.

I just get into model kits.
but I've been watching some Hot Wheels videos on youtube and some of those 1/64 cars are really nice.
that is a very deep rabbit hole that starts at $1.00 each and can zoom to $40.00 each.

The only difference between a man and a boy is the price of the toy.

I used to have a pretty awesome Ultimate Soldier collection. The guns in particular.

I play video games and have several rc cars, but got plenty of adult toys, motorcycles, boats and more guns than one man needs.  Wish I still had my star wars stuff, but I think my nephew stole them when he was a little kid, I can't prove it he denies it . He is a good guy 32 year old family man, In reality Iam a big kid who can act like an adult when needed.

I buy RC stuff still.

I like it. It's fun and calming and is a way to keep my mind off work.

To each their own. I don't give a shit what you buy and fill your time with so long as you pay your taxes and are a functioning contributor to society.

I love Combiners. As a kid, we only had the limbs (Aerialbots, Stunticons, etc.) and had to go to a friend's house who only had the torsos.

Took son to lego store last Monday. They had 4 employees working there. Which that alone seemed oddly overstaffed for such a small store. But the way they were talking with themselves and customers about the legos...definitely toy foamers.

47 year old comic book, cartoon, and toy nerd here.  I don't buy a lot of toys because the money is tight, but...it's a complicated impulse. Part of me is definitely aware that I'm a man child and a but embarrassed. Another part of me figures life is hard man, and if reading comics or sticking a few action figures on your shelf makes you happy, screw it. I do try not to go overboard though. I don't want my home looking like a nerd cave.

The He-Man Origins figures sucked me in hardcore.  I also have picked up the 70s/80s Star Wars retro reissues. If the over reissue 3.75 o-ring GI Joes,  I'm gonna need to take out a loan.

Somewhere, I have a boxed G1 rubber tire(d) Ultra Magnus. It made the move with me to Texas back in 2005. Been looking for it for years without luck.
