For all the people hating on drones and the perceived intrusion on their privacy.... Overwhelmingly, most are just young kids learning to fly a toy.
We kind of need kids in this country who appreciate technology, science, physics, coding, and have "nerdy" hobbies. Just think, 10 years from now, that "annoying" kid down the block with his stupid drone and silly VR headset, could be the one lasing targets in Iran as Israeli F35's bust some bunkers. Or he might be the one putting bombs on foreheads overhead of an ISIS training camp. It all starts somewhere and the Air Force is desperate for drone pilots and nerdy kids. |

I found a drone in my oak tree a few years ago right after Christmas. I don’t think it had a camera on it, obviously a kid’s drone. I took a picture of it and put it on our neighborhood Facebook page but no one ever claimed it. I looked it up and it wasn’t very expensive, so I’d imagine the kid’s parents bought him a replacement.

I would just pull the card and see where it came from and return to the owner. The thing probably just ran out of juice or got blown off course. If you are worried that it belongs to a predator, just watch all of the video and make sure they aren’t creeping on kids.

Chances are pretty good that the owner flew it out of range of the controller, and it found its way to your yard. The memory card, if it has one, will probably give you some clues as to where it came from. |

I'm not getting the anger here. Did it do you harm? Was it even intentionally flown onto your property? What's the deal? I can't imagine doing anything but returning it to it's owner if you figure out whose it is.
I am OK with a prank in good taste. Like wearing a suit making you look like an alien peering into the camera or the like. But, not damage or destruction. Someone paid money for it. |

He powered it up (2nd flight of the day), took off and the damn thing went straight up at full throttle, never to be seen again. |
