Tornado watch issued here SE MN.  Going to be a fun evening if the winds get as bad as they say.

It's been weird already today. I'm on the edge of the south metro area, and there was a lot of really thick patches of fog where the snow in the fields melted, evaporated, and then didn't really go anywhere. I was just out in on the road where there was spotty rain showers, with foggy patches that made it hard to see the road, but you could look up and see a planet in the setting sunlight (Mercury or Venus) in a clear sky.

You can't suffer property damage from severe weather when you don't own any property anymore.

I have lost rooves off several tin buildings. Houses are shedding shingles.  Doors are gone off machine sheds.  Dozen power poles are down within a mile or two..  Rooves tore up and are in my overhead power lines, so I can't generate.  No power no water for cattle.  Its a real shit show here.  The wind straight from the west is something we usually don't see.

Central KS here as well. Had some gusts over 70mph around 5:30. Fort Riley sent out a mass text message telling people to stay indoors because of falling trees and power lines. Watch a tree in my side yard snap in half as shingles were being torn off. Yes, Todo, we are in Kansas.

Just finished buttoning stuff down and getting it covered with tarps to keep the water off so I don't have Frozen shit in the morning. Got the vehicles moved out of the way of any falling trees, I'm on my second beer, I think I still have time to take the dog outside to play fetch for a 15 or 20 minutes

Central Minnesota, about an hour Northwest of Minneapolis, 50 degrees with light winds

Hour and a half south of the twin cities.  62 on my way home today, melted most of last Fridays snow.  Rain and a pretty good lightning show coming in from the west now.

In my garage watching, we'll see what happens!

It looks like this tornado may have gone through the wind farm that I work at. I've already dealt with a tornado at 1 wind farm and it ain't fun. Luckily it didn't hit my house but we had some crazy strong winds. Power is out, hopefully it's not out for too long

Saw a little bit of lightning earlier. A few small waves passed by so far, but just minor stuff. Looks like the edge of the big storm is just about to roll in.

NW Chicago suburbs here. Was getting a hair cut after work. One of the big plate glass windows at the front of the salon took a hard hit from a gust and really bowed in. Stylist and I were both watching it and it was freaky. Wind is about 25 mph right now.

The NOAA Great Lakes forecast this morning was saying there could be hurricane force winds on Lake Superior.

Maybe a gusty t’storm here after midnight. Keeping my stuff charged just in case.

Safe here in Boone, Iowa. Very high winds, hail, rain, constant lightning but thankfully no naders. 70+ mph winds nearby. Lights flickered a bit at my house but others around me have lost power. Limbs and some trees down but that seems to be the extent of damage here.

Tornado warnings (red) from earlier:

Ugly here in Northern Iowa.  Tornado sirens going off for 25 minutes without stopping. Kids were scared, but ok now. Still raining and windy but sirens have finally stopped and hail has stopped. According to the radar, round two in less than two hours.

Power has been off since noon in my part of Easter CO.

Wind died down just in time to grill steaks.

Thankfully, I live just south of a huge patch of asphalt and concrete that’s been basking in the sun all day. Should be just enough heat rising tonight to push the line of storms on radar to the north.
I feel bad for folks in central missourah and the missourah-Arkansas border, though.

Stay safe, everyone.

I think I am going to have a couple beers now.

Northern Twin Cities suburb here.  Moderate rain and lightning, nothing that would be concerning in the summer.  Radar shows the worst will be past here in another 30 minutes.  South of us looks a lot worse.

It's turning into that here in the south metro. I'm still bracing for high winds, but the thunderstorms here haven't been anything special, other than happening ten days before Christmas. Doesn't mean that everyone is in the clear yet though.

North central ks, 98 mph winds, lots of roofs damaged, morton buildings damaged, fences, electrical fires in trees.  It was a shit show, tomorrow is going to be a lot of work.  Prepare as best you can, it's a doozy of a destruction.

Sirens went off about an hour ago, power went out...was in basement for a while.  Wind gusts of 102 MPH reported 11 miles East of me where parents live.  Several tornados spotted.  Local radio station and tv news station still out.  Des Moines to Rochester still getting 71 to 82 MPH wind gusts.  I've seen a few  tornados...had one go by our house as a kid at 3 AM after work.  You'll never ever forget the power of the suction and sound they produce.

Had some tornado touchdowns the next county south of me about 4:30-5:00. Then pretty quiet, until about a half hour ago, and now the wind is really picking up again.
