Electrical trade is sorta broad. Are you a field hand or an office bitch? Union or open shop? I'm in the trade, only reason I'm asking. And yes, I get all those things you don't get, including a bonus.

We got a catered "Holiday lunch" and they handed out hams out of a truck in the parking lot at the end of the shift.

Poors thread.

4.5% bonus....5.5% raise.  It was a good year, probably lost ground due to inflation, but I'm not gonna bitch.

I give the bonuses.

One guy got a take down recurve bow he's been talking about. The other, a Bosch jig saw and extra batteries he's been wanting.
Office lady who works about 8- 10 hours a month got $100 and a bottle of wine. I pay her cash all year long.
Friday night, I take everyone and spouses to dinner on me.

If you don't get all of that stuff as an office bitch, Move. NOW. Fuck that shit. If you are a PM or an Estimator, you are worth your weight in gold right now. Everyone needs one or both of those. My buddy just left as an Electrical Super at a tech firm jobsite to go to another GC to do the same project and his new base pay is $230K. Unless you are making that, you should be getting paid holidays, paid vacation, profit sharing and bonuses.

I get a small Christmas bonus along with some swag and a ham. I give the swag away to the workers and then cook the ham in the break room for everyone. The cash i spend on gun stuff usually.

Regular bonus happens around April.

I get performance bonuses randomly during the year but no Christmas bonus or even a card.  They used to get us all a ham and a $50 gift card but no more.

I've only received a bonus from my current company once, and it was only due to MacKenzie Scott donated a boatload of money to us. Even then, the bonus was like 1.5% of my salary

Several years ago though, I worked for a company that handed out bonuses of up to 15%, depending on your performance review. Those were nice! However,  it all went downhill when the owners made their dumbass kid the CEO. In less than two years he drove the the company into the ground with utterly stupid and incredibly expensive ideas that failed big time.

I've never received a "Christmas bonus"
I have how ever received many bonuses at Christmas time.
The holiday had nothing to do with the bonus other than being on the calender at the same time.
When i worked at Cargill we always got choice of a turkey or ham.
One place I worked the owner did a "holiday gift" that was from her, based entirely on the generosity of her little heart. If you wanted her gift you had to attend her annual Christmas meal the next Thursday after Thanksgiving right on the production floor at noon. She usually brought cash.

No. It's forbidden by law. We don't even get a uniform allowance.

I get 1 paid vacation day for Christmas (although most years it'd be 2 days) and a voucher from our CLEO (personally) good for $20 towards a ham or turkey purchase at a specific local grocery store.

Nope. Never have.

One year when I was in the Army s1 sat on the paperwork to take the money for MREs at JRTC until Christmas so I got a Christmas deduction.

Fuck no.  I got a $3 scratch off ticket at the company Christmas party though.  Didn’t win shit.  You better fucking believe upper management got nice bonuses for all my hard work throughout the year.  Merry Christmas and kiss my ass

Nope.   We do get our yearly bonus in April and that can be 0-20% of total yearly pay for my grade.  That makes up for no Christmas ham.   Lowest I have ever gotten was 9% and most was 20%.

They panic planned one here this year, as I think they forgot. Got an email last week.
It'll be in the lunch room this coming Saturday evening. Meat and potatoes provided. Everyone bring a dessert!

Lol, potluck Christmas party.

I get a yearly bonus in March, so no. But I do get to work both Xmas eve and day, so with holiday pay on top of regular pay for both days, I guess that's my bonus

I read these posts and just shake my head. I cant believe employers wont pony up something for their emps at Xmas

I have worked for the same mom and pop electrical contractor for over 20 years. Yes, we get bonuses and lots of paid days off. as we should, we make them a lot of money.
Even the new guy that has only been around for few months will get 100 bucks cash and paid days off for Xmas.

I feel very lucky, I get a very nice bonus every year, 5k on average, But I basically run the place for the owner.

Best of luck gents and happy holidays.

Hoping for 15-20%.

We'll see.

I got 10% last year and I was hired in June so it was a 20% prorated bonus.

self employed so no bonus for me. Profit this year was pretty decent though.
my employees will all get at least two weeks worth of pay in cash as a year end bonus. They will also get paid for the week between Christmas and new years without having to come in to work.
