Is this one of those threads where overweight dudes who only wear western wear criticize people for wearing a sweater?

Yeah I wear hoodies but rarely use the actual hood. I'm more in it for the pockets.

come to think of it, i actually dont own a hoodie...

my winter wear is generally a flannel shirt with a fleece full zip jacket or a coat if its that cold.

Sometimes. I'm more partial to flannel.

Sure, if it's chilly and not raining. It rarely gets cold enough here to need a real winter jacket.

Yes, but not with shorts and flip flops with socks.

Yes.

I don't use the hood but during the frozen tundra months the hood keeps the wind off the back of my neck. It's like a sweatshirt with a built in scarf.

I just wore one this morning in Socal.

Around the house, doing yard work and such. Occasionally off the property if I'm just running to town quick.

If the wife and I are heading out together I'll usually be wearing a button up shirt and a jacket, if needed.

I generally do not wear hooded sweatshirts in public unless it's informal. Hiking, running to the hardware store, etc.

During Spring and Fall. Sometimes if the winter is mild. I just got a new 5.11 one on sale for $30.

I live in AZ so I'd only need one for a few weeks out of the year.

Of course not.

Suit, tie, fedora and briefcase with pimento cheese sandwich for workdays.

On my days off i wear jorts, polo, fanny pack (for 1911), crocs with white socks (or velcro new balance shoes if cruising the mall), and boomer hat.

I live in Central Texas, so it's rare that I ever need a hoodie.  But even when it's cold, I rarely wear them.  Because I'm an adult.

Yup. Though less often since they've come out with puffy vests and jackets. But hoodies since the 70s. UCSF Dept of Oral Biology gave me one when I left for Buffalo in 1980 (With zipper, I guess they knew I never buy zipperless hoodies).

A hoodie goes well with a puffy vest. I always wore a vest when giving lectures (at least, in school). In fact, half the 1st year students wore a puffy vest to one of my classes and took pictures as a joke.

Yes. At work, and 90% of my daily life, T-shirts and hoodies are perfectly acceptable.

I own suits and ties, but they're not really applicable except for the occasional wedding or funeral.

This thread needs some badass hoodies...

Pit Bull, and Hoodies when it's needed, which can really depend on where you live.   I would imagine that folks in Florida, don't use them as much as someone from Oregon.

Hoodies are great when you're out on the clays range for hours at a time.  Put the hood up to keep the wind off my hearing pro and my neck warm.

What's not to like?

I live in Idaho, we don't have many people to worry about around here.

I have a Carhartt Rain Defender hoodie that I wear when it's cold enough. It's a bit oversized for me, but I like it that way. And the only time I put the hood up is if it's raining and windy. Otherwise, my hat that I always wear keeps the rain off my head.

I turn 40 this year, make well over 6 figures, and wear hoodies constantly.

Hands down my favorite time of year is when you can get away wearing shorts and a tee, and bring along a hoodie for when temps drop at night.

Eat shit boomers!

Sweatshirts?  No.  Hooded sunshirts?  Yes.  Since 2021, I've been on a sunshirt kick, year round.  Should have been doing this years, no, decades ago.

Spf long sleeve shirts with hoods that all the people fishing and shooting matches wear. They are awesome.

Same.  Unless the weather requires it.  Even then, I tend to keep it back to where I can still see in my peripheral.
