Update 8/30/21
We are continuing the rapid work schedule on our three main fronts, airframe, murals, and hangar. Proffered of male participation in the mural work.  The hangar is up and we are setting up the framework for how it will sit on the wall.   This will turn into a 3D shelf that will hold a crashed ME-109  Forming more of the nose of the F-22   The ribbing will help define major body lines that make up the airframe. Symmetry is our number one goal when attaching these to the frames.   |

How fast can you identify who the leaders/sprinters that may fade, vs long term steady, marathon, there through thick and thin students? How early do you put together functional teams?

Update 8/31/21
The hangar was doing so well......then we went to put it up against the display corner for fit, and for the muralists to get an idea of what needed to happen around it. The walls are not square.....on the school. I knew this. That is on me. Our hangar is also not square. Between the two, we needed to take it apart and make sure the frame fit the corner. We then modified things a bit to make it come back together.   Wing layout has been challenging.  We thought we had it all figured out last night, but a check this morning of spacing is not working. We need to recheck out measurements before we can go any further and fix the problems to make sure the wing takes the right shape on the outer edges.  The ribbing on the airframe is making headway, but we find parts where we need to go back and rework spots to make sure we have nice continuous body lines. We are looking at all those great photos everyone posted earlier. They are very helpful. We are still working with CAD to get the cockpit glass measurements figured out.

What if there were two planes flying in formation? They don't both need to be F-22s. The other plane could be protruding from the wall. Half plane. Half mural. Guessing it would depend on how the full plane will be positioned relative to the wall and what your other plans are. |

My MIL was sporting one of our shirts a couple weeks ago up on the mountain. This is "Sheep Mountain Look Out". It was pretty smokey and our view was kind of ruined.
 That art teacher guy and his wife.   A little bit of concerning news here at PHS. We are in week two, and the quarantine list is pretty crazy at the moment. My lead designer is now stuck at home for 10days.  He does have his computer and will be able to work on our CAD projects that need created, like the actuator for the spitfire, and the weapons bay doors on the F22. Hopefully we have those two things all done by the time he is allowed back.Hopefully we still have school for him to come back to.

Update 9/1
Test fit #1 for "squareness" with the wall. That's a nope.  Test fit #2 was much more successful.  Team getting the top of the hangar lined up for a roof. We pulled the sides off this morning to make some 30 degree cuts on the top 2x4s so they could lock into the same cuts that will be attached to the wall. This should help make installing to the wall easier and a bit stronger. We did this with the Panther last year.  ME-109 crash site shelf  Shelf number two underway. This one will be smaller. Not sure what we are putting on that yet.  Team leader tackling the wind design and construction. They are so thin, it is proving to be difficult to make they come together.  Working to get the underside of the F22 set up for ribbing.   |

For your small shelf, you could have a SAM or AAA mobile gun like an SA-2 or ZSU 23-4.

There was a James Bond movie that starred Roger Moore. I forget which one Pre-Credit sequence had him fly a Tiny aircraft once or twice though a hanger. Last time through he dropped a bomb and the whole thing went kablam. Dare ya to find that aircraft and put in on one of the small displays. |

If you haven’t already, reach out to Maj. Gunderson (f22 demo team pilot) and the F22 Demo team on Instagram. They do both virtual and in person discussions and demos for students. In person is usually only for base schools, but who knows if you’re on the route back from an air show
 The look on a kids face when they see a plane defy physics and any idea of what is “possible” is unreal. The in person demo is truly out of this world.@cabogunderson and @f22demoteam on Instagram. Both will respond. |
