Let's go with Patrick Royanne Cleburne, father of the Confederate sharpshooter and as Lee called him, "The Stonewall of the West." The other should be named Nathan Bedford Forrest.

Two things.
1. My issue with the name "Fort Liberty" is that the government doesn't care about our liberty. It's just lip service. 2. The idea that naming bases after Confederate generals is wrong, is tied to the erroneous conclusion that the Civil War was solely about slavery and that the CSA just wanted to defend slavery. It's not true, any historian can tell you that the CSA came about because of many factors and that most of both the CSA's citizenry and armed forces were against slavery (it was seen as a sign of the South's aristocracy). |

Some of those bases are being renamed in the namesake of people who EARNED their status, not gifted it based on a certain racial or gender criteria. What bullshit.
Some of those base names make perfect sense (Moore, Eisenhower, etc). Others... bleh. |
