If CZ is out, then go 2011.
Or BHP. Nothing wrong with them either. |

How about a Sig P226 Legion. I just picked up a used P229 Legion RXP have not had a chance to shoot it. But it feels great. Edit to change it to the full sized P226. |

Quoted: Can you get an RMR on those? I have shot one a couple times with other guys guns, but I'd like to own and shoot my own. Everyone raves about them but I'm not there yet because I don't shoot them often. Basically I really want it all. RMR/double stack/SAO/accurate/daily carry/compete. I'm not rich but I'm not a poor. I'd like to save for it and do it right the first time. I can't buy three 2k-3k guns to see which I like better, but I'm happy to save for one. Looks like it runs about an extra $250-300 for the cut/mount depending on options. I just happened to get a crazy deal on mine, it was too good to pass up. https://www.wilsoncombat.com/true-zero-optics/ |

Some form of 2011 is most versatile. Aluminum frame, commander slide, etc.
BHPs carry nicely but need a lot of work to be really usable IMO. The Wilson EDC would probably be ok but a lot of people I’ve talked to never warmed up to them. SIG also makes a SAO P229. Then there’s the 92X Performance. |

I'm a 1911 guy, so which ever well built 1911 fits your pocketbook and desire to own.
Although - I could do the Staccato with a little persuasion... |

Staccato formerly STI.
Beats the Sig Legion P226 SAO by a wide margin. |
|
STI = Sexually Transmitted Infection , Sig = shit QC but pretty aesthetics. Browning Hi Power or CZ are the only right answers. The very mention of Glock among these pistols makes me reconsider my stance on abortions.

Staccato. P DUO if you don't mind doing some trigger work. XC of you don't wanna mess with it . The XC trigger is what every Staccato should come with but doesn't. I do my own trigger work so, no biggie. The XC is nicer but not nice enough for the premium over the P. Infinity if no fucks are given on price.

I'll give you one that is out of left field. How about an M&P CORE with an Apex flat faced metal trigger added to it? I have one and it truly has the feel of a single action trigger, plus it's already setup for a red dot, and if you get the ported model the dot doesn't even bounce much inside the optic. If you're on a budget it's a lot cheaper than a staccato or legion too, even with the cost of adding the Apex trigger.
I have a lot of different handguns and this one is a ton of fun to shoot. You can mess around with the springs to get a trigger pull more competitive or carry, and you can even get a safety model if you want to carry it like a 1911. Lots of versatility and a great price, what's not to love? |

The Hi Power just needs a little work to be great in my opinion. |

Honestly, bro?
Within your constraints, see if you can find a SIG P229 SAO. I think you might be pleasantly surprised. |

We should have a range day Whiskers. Ill bring the sigs, a few other guns you might like to try. Perhaps we could find an indoor range with some rentals you might like too.

OP
It's weird, it's small and feels dainty and I don't care for it. I hate it. You're not going to win me over. I've shot them, they're nice guns. I'm not shitting on them as firearms, I just don't like them. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes It's weird, it's small and feels dainty and I don't care for it. I hate it. OWS just sent me a notice they got some hipower clones in... If the OP thinks CZs are small and dainty I imagine the HiPower would be lost in his mitts. My HiPower is my favorite handgun but I had to put aftermarket grips on it before I felt it filled my hand. Slide is a little thin IMO, but that's ok for me. Then there's the trigger to consider. |
