Or BHP. Nothing wrong with them either.

If that slide style was a problem, Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft wouldn’t have put it on a the Pistole 49. Sig makes them again as the P210, and it should meet your requirements as best single action pistol. However if single stack isn’t your thing then look for a Phoenix Redback SA. The Redback can be had optic ready as well.

How about a Sig P226 Legion.    I just picked up a used P229 Legion RXP have not had a chance to shoot it.   But it feels great.

Edit to change it to the full sized P226.

226 Legion is on my short list. I'll always side with the larger pistol until we get into competition 6" guns.

I've shot them and very much like them.

Can you get an RMR on those? I have shot one a couple times with other guys guns, but I'd like to own and shoot my own. Everyone raves about them but I'm not there yet because I don't shoot them often.

Basically I really want it all. RMR/double stack/SAO/accurate/daily carry/compete.

I'm not rich but I'm not a poor. I'd like to save for it and do it right the first time. I can't buy three 2k-3k guns to see which I like better, but I'm happy to save for one.

Yes, they’re offering it as an option now. Looks like it runs about an extra $250-300 for the cut/mount depending on options. I just happened to get a crazy deal on mine, it was too good to pass up.

The P226 Legion SAO is the tits.

But not as good as the P210A, and I am disappoint that GD has failed you until this moment

As an admitted Hi-Power fan, I can say that either of the SIGs will have a better trigger, unless you have a 'smith do some work, like Don Williams did with this one

A .40 S&W gun that got the full package, including a hand-fitted .357 SIG barrel. It's a laser.

Two others that fit the category ( sort of) - the original P210, in this case, a Swiss Army pistol

and the HK Expert (or Elite), which has a delightful single action Match trigger

The steel framed Sigs seem harder to find now.  Especially during gunpocalypse.  I was lucky to find a lightly used one for a good price.

Some form of 2011 is most versatile.  Aluminum frame, commander slide, etc.

BHPs carry nicely but need a lot of work to be really usable IMO.

The Wilson EDC would probably be ok but a lot of people I’ve talked to never warmed up to them.

SIG also makes a SAO P229.  Then there’s the 92X Performance.

I shoot Glocks as well, but it's just a cost/reliability/does the job thing. I really like single action handguns and can shoot them better than my Glocks.

A guy at APC let me shoot his X6 from Germany I was hitting steel at 100 no problem first mag. I had not shot pistol at 100yds before that day and could not hit it with a mag from my G17. Of course with training sure it's possible but I'm fine with my G17 for defensive use within real life pistol distances.

I guess I want it all and I feel a quality double stack SAO will do that.

Yup, the DS SOA's are easier to shoot, no doubt. Personally I go all in on one platform so I went back to Glocks simply for the practicality. Worth noting, although I had a few Staccatos, I was mainly running an Atlas Gunworks 2011. Probably the best pistol I've ever owned, but it was $5800 plus a bunch of mag tuning, which can be a hassle. Staccatos don't really need the mag tuning, the tolerances are more forgiving.

Staccato.  P DUO if you don't mind doing some trigger work.  XC of you don't wanna mess with it .  The XC trigger is what every Staccato should come with but doesn't.   I do my own trigger work so, no biggie.  The XC is nicer but not nice enough for the premium over the P.  Infinity if no fucks are given on price.

I have 2 BHPs but they really need a bit of work to make them the “best.” CZ has some very nice options right out of the box, not sure anyone else even comes close in terms of value

I'll give you one that is out of left field. How about an M&P CORE with an Apex flat faced metal trigger added to it? I have one and it truly has the feel of a single action trigger, plus it's already setup for a red dot, and if you get the ported model the dot doesn't even bounce much inside the optic. If you're on a budget it's a lot cheaper than a staccato or legion too, even with the cost of adding the Apex trigger.

I have a lot of different handguns and this one is a ton of fun to shoot. You can mess around with the springs to get a trigger pull more competitive or carry, and you can even get a safety model if you want to carry it like a 1911. Lots of versatility and a great price, what's not to love?

True , only guns I regret having to get rid of were my Browning Hi Power and Les Baer 1911. The Hi Power just needs a little work to be great in my opinion.

Get the P DUO, I think you have to buy the RMR plate seperatly now. But my father has a Wilson EDC X9 that has had to go back to the shop for hammer follow. Wilson Combat QC is shit in my opinion and my P is most definitely a better fit gun IMHO. If you play USPSA Carry Optics I am not sure the Sao guns are "legal" if that matters to you.

The TSO is just freaking awesome but as others have said getting it red dot capable is a pain in the ass and not really a carry gun.

OWS just sent me a notice they got some hipower clones in...

If the OP thinks CZs are small and dainty I imagine the HiPower would be lost in his mitts. My HiPower is my favorite handgun but I had to put aftermarket grips on it before I felt it filled my hand. Slide is a little thin IMO, but that's ok for me. Then there's the trigger to consider.
