Age...

Catholicism is the original Christian faith.  The catholic church was founded by the Apostles, it's 2000 years old.

The archaic doctrine comes from the middle ages, and it seems kind of foreign now I admit.  The Lutherans have only been around for about 500 years... kind of a young fledgling religion in the scheme of things.

The Eastern Church was the first to split away, that was for purely political reasons.

Who's the Baptist Pope that declared not to recognize these truths?

I agree with your points having come the other direction and could probably add a few more points to the list.
But I would say that we agree on 95%+ of Christian doctrine beyond those points and still consider Baptists Christians.

This stupidity needs to be knocked down.

Catholics honor Mary as the mother of Christ.
We do not worship her and would acknowledge that she can do nothing by herself (like you and me) without her son.

We ask Mary to pray for us, just like I might ask a friend to pray for me too.

Catholicism places a large emphasis on the Church, Communion of Saints and Tradition as gateways to Jesus. "Christianity" or "Protestant Christianity" focuses on just Jesus.

Yep. Protestants worshiped the King of England and prayed for him as God's representative on Earth.

Thomas More was beheaded for refusing to swear an oath affirming the King as the leader of the brand new church of england.

Brits replaced the Pope with the King of England and you would be tortured to death for not acknowledging it.

No, I just see some Roman Catholics claiming "firsties" in these threads.  That's just not historically accurate.

Nor is the idea that the Church in Rome was founded by one of the original twelve apostles.  It was not. It was founded by Paul.

Just trying to keep the facts straight.

Catholics believe that Jesus started a church while here on earth with the 12 apostles.

He duly informed them, blessed them with the power of the Holy Spirit, and sent them forth with a mission.

Every other Christian church was started by someone else who was not one of those 12.

This one?

"I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll.  And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll."

I'm not seeing it.

But to answer your question, James 5:16, “the prayer of the righteous avails much.”
This is true.  My argument would be that we have the example of the Redeemer himself, instructing us how to pray.  Myself, I will follow that ....

The RCC is the most successful church at changing God's law and word to suit their own needs.

Got rid of the second commandment and changed the fourth. Now most of the Christian world worships on the first day of the week and don't know why it changed.
Set up the priests as go betweens between a person and God when Jesus said nobody goes to the Father except thru me.
Sets up idols and sometimes worships them.
Believe that dead people are immortal and either go to heaven, hell or purgatory when they don't die but don't die.....Bible says nobody is immortal until the second coming.
Prays to dead saints to pray to God for them.
Thinks men can forgive sins when only God can forgive sins.
Thinks the bread and wine are really Jesus' body instead of the symbolism. Bread is the Word and Wine is the blood of Christ that covers our sins.

There very well may be more Catholics in heaven than any other group because most of them don't know their Bible's and that is intentional by the church. ymmv

Christianity is justification through faith alone. Catholicism is justification through works. This is dangerous as many people believe they will access to the father just by doing good things which scripture reveals is false.
