I would suggest a fake frontal attack from the north.
followed by and end-around attack just north of the Wadi they told the civilians to move south of. Establish a blocking position, facing both north and south. Drop all of the bridges across the Wadi except one, declaring it safe passage for non-combatants. Allow anyone to move south, but nothing moving north. Lay siege on the north. Once all the weak hearted have moved south, drop the last bridge. Then play whack-a-mole to anyone popping up from the rubble. Surgery, instead of amputation. it would take some time, by better than losing hundreds in tunnel warfare. |

Is it just me, or does the problem seem to be sitting idly by while your enemy, the ones who'd like to erase you from existence, spend all of their time and resources preparing to do so? And then proceed to, or, at the very least, make it so expensive for you to "fix" the problem you're not willing to pay the price? Or don't get enough help from the civilized world to do so?
Exhibit 1: Ukraine should have had ATACMS 18 months ago. Russia is a toothless, decrepit hound that has a loud bark but should have been put down ages ago. Instead, they keep chugging along in the meatgrinder, murdering people who were us 50-60 years ago. Exhibit 2: HAMAS being allowed to build hundreds of miles of tunnels under Gaza from which the cost to flush them out will be unfathomable, before getting froggy and counting on everyone else in the Muslim world to pile on. Exhibit 3: China being allowed to infiltrate every level of our infrastructure to gather intel and build up their forces before deciding what they fell like doing, NVM the fact they were allowed to buy up a large chunk of our country and make us dependent on their manufacturing instead of our own. Exhibit 4: Watching full-bore Communists and their weaker Socialist pawns undermine everything the citizens of this country held dear for two centuries, and crow about it. Those of us who desire life, liberty, self-determination, and the rest of what the founding fathers held dear... We've already lost. Unless we haven't. I don't even know at this point. What I know is I've become very tired of the perception of losing, and I have no idea what to do about that. Or even where this post took us. Maybe nowhere.

and for the guys who say flooding the tunnels would work, well it does. Egypt has used it extensively to destroy hamas tunnels and have destroyed tons of them by flooding them with sea-water. it may not destroy all of the complex but it does work to fuck them up quite well obviously, and remains a viable option that Israel im sure is well aware of.

What is the downside to pumping a shit ton of sea water into the tunnels?
Collateral damage? Cost? Muddy boots? The ego of the hamas "engineer" that designed a water tight tunnel door that fails when there's a few feet of water pushing against it? Lost evidence? Who cares about any of that? A shit ton of water would absolutely fuck up their jankety ass tunnels. The deeper they dug and the more sealed off they made it, the worse off they would be. Target the deep ass tunnels first. |
