Some of the sports stuff for kids is a bit much and some parents are too involved. Poor kids just cant be kids They started with travel ball and personal trainers when the oldest was 8 or 9. He doesn’t even really like any of that anymore. He wants to spend every spare minute in the woods hunting with Duckski. *shrug* I don't know what's different. My college football team has consistently been one of the top-performing DIII schools, and for decades they haven't cut anybody from the roster who wants to play, don't do contact drills in practice, and don't practice if the weather sucks. It's a shame that kids get so beat down when I don't think it necessarily has to be that way to succeed. |

Same as Naamah said. If you don’t play one sport year round here, it’s a slim chance you get to play for the school team. They are grooming these teams from way early on in rec ball. 6-7 years ago, I knew of some 10ish year olds running no huddle offense in travel football.
