OP would have been better with regular baked beans. Some curry powder a few raisins, and a few tiny chunks of apple.

LOTS of places use it in recipes similar to how anchovy paste and tomato paste is used. However I do like it straight, but it is definitely its own flavor, it is good on toast as well of course. Couple of weeks later he comes back and sez - 'man that stuff is STRONG, I ate it a week ago and can still taste it. It was brutal. How do you guys eat that stuff ?'. I sez yeah it is, it's sort of an acquired taste, I like it though. He sez 'no but literally, how do you eat it ? I couldn't get the tortilla chip far enough into the jar, so just spooned it out' |
