It gives you a wind meter you can hook to your phone, then enter wind direction and speed in the app... works pretty good, of course you have to judge what the wind is doing between the meter and the target..but once you get used to it, its not bad to deal with...It does everything else using the AB programming, even increasing the BC of the 230 Bergers from .374 stock to 380 for the higher velocity.. plus it has a place to load in velocity at given temps, a place to square the dope with your real shot dope, and square the velocity with what the labradar says..pretty trick piece...

1/10th mil clicks

need to adjust 4 mils?  40 clicks, easy.  Try doing that with 1/4 MOA clicks, why involve all that extra math?  MOA clicks are stupid IMO

1/10th mil click all the way

people that like 1/4 - 1/2 MOA click scopes are the same people that like second focal plane scopes, or don't even realize that first focal plane exists.

Nooop. MOA math is for deer-camp Fuddleys even though it’s totally unnecessary for Fuddley-type shooting.

Mil math is for in-shape, outbound operators who gotta do operator stuff.

There’s a difference.

So as a rifleman or sniper, you're looking out across the field or through your optics -- are you measuring winds in kilometers per hour?

Your PT run this morning -- how many klicks, and how fast did you run?  Because you can figure out how fast your winds are moving in kilometers per hour.

It doesn’t matter what is better. All service rifle scopes are in MOA. When I dial for wind and change yard lines it will be in MOA because that is what everyone in the game is using and what every service rifle is set up for going back before the M1.

The gun number is just an approximation and doesn’t scale accurately, .3 at 300 doesn’t translate to 1.2 at 1200 and those nice round numbers are only applicable at one wind speed. What do you do when the wind goes from 5 to 8 mph? Or you miss with your 5mph wind call and have to shoot a different target at a different distance?

That’s why I like the tremor, as long as you are shooting the same load the wind dots never change. Once I know the dots are 4mph I can shoot at any distance (with less than 10 mills of drop) in any wind speed, very quickly.
View Quote

Except wind in real terrain is quite variable. Unless you live in flat Kansas and shoot exclusively on a flat KD range, good luck finding those constant value one directional winds and whole number target engagements.

In the real world, in places where topography is a thing, you can have a strong wind in your face, at 243 meters where you can see some dust, it’s blowing three to nine and down at 617 meters where there’s some leafy trees everything looks calm and you got no idea at the target which is at 711 meters, but maybe you saw a dust devil?

Then you shoot, and just as you are about to make a wind call and shoot again, everything changes direction and value.

As for mills vs moa?
A real man can use both. He just needs to remember to switch his rangefinder between meters and yards.

Mils work in yards, furlongs, meters, arshins, fine-red cunt hairs and any other unit of distance measure, just like MOA. Both measure angle and not distance. You don’t need to convert to distance if your reticle matches your knobs.

Exactly.  MOA is easier for a lot of people because it is very close to 1” at 100 yds, 2” at 200 yds etc. With MIL the math is just so much more elegant and simple. I have and use both but lean to MIL.
