Raul Julia was the perfect Gomez, Carolyn Jones was the perfect Morticia.
Christina Ricci was fucking brilliant as Wednesday. |

Quoted: In the original cartoon (which the TV show was based on), apparently he "had a somewhat grotesque appearance, with a tubby body, a snub-nose, a crooked tooth and a receding chin." So this Gomez seems to be MORE consistent with the original source material, and the original TV show was the one that departed hugely from the cartoon by making him suave and somewhat attractive. Fair enough. I was thinking about the TV series from the 60's. |

Quoted: what part is woke? not using white people? View Quote Mi Gente! Raul Julia as Gomez Addama was a step in the right direction. Yes I wrote Addama not Addams. Now Cathy Jones gets to step up as Morticia. This is a major victory for us Latinos of Spaniard (European) descent and not Indio descent. Everyone knows that Charles Addams was secretly really Carlos. He just had to hide it from the gringos. I really hope they don't fuck it up. |

Quoted: Jesus could they do a worse casting of Gomez? That dude looks like a dishwasher for a food truck. View Quote Dude is actually a likeable actor... I've seen him in several shooter type movies or shows... I don't hate him... I'm reserving judgement till I see an Episode or 3. I liked the Addams Fam and Munsters and CZJ is Hot AF.... So, I'll give it a shot, it theirs to sink. My jaded side thinks it'll be a 1/2 to one seasoner at best, but who know. |

Quoted: Was it okay when Raul Julia played Gomez Addams? He was Puerto Rican. I'm still trying to figure out what makes this cast woke in your eyes. View Quote I'm guessing the makeup of the cast, that any whites in the show will just be extras and either be tax collectors, policeman or something of the sort. Who knows. |

Next thing you know, they'll have a damn puerto rican playing Ricky Ricardo.

Also Catherine Zeta Jones is still hot. |

Damnit, I googled it some more and you're right. I wasn't even aware of the original cartoon, and am pleasantly surprised to see those that are haven't died of old age. I stumbled upon a full episode of the live show on YouTube and discovered what scarred me as a youth. Polearms, paintings, heavily carved furniture, and oriental rugs? It wasn't watching The Golden Girls that broke me. Attached File I also confess I am unfamiliar with the actor that was recently cast. I just didn't like the look of him. |

Given Netflix's record - it will certainly be woke. That said, they sometimes take woke so far over the top it becomes a decent comedy.
Not really an Adams Family show though - it is Wednesday's show. |

Quoted: Tim Burton trash. Oh well. And Gomez is supposed to be a good looking dude — almost a sophisticate… why did they cast a troll for that role? Ignoring years of tv production canon — because a second-rate comic book said so??? View Quote Is Danny Elfman doing the score, too? If so, then I already know everything about it. There will be no surprises. I know what it will look like, what it will sound like, what the tone of the jokes will be... I'm already bored. |

Just binged Adult Wednesday. It was pretty funny. Too mad Netflix did not get her involved in this project.

Seasons 1 and 2 are on youtube - it apparently got sued after that. Netflix had taken it down for a while, but it is up right now. There are some playlists, but I think they are somewhat incomplete - I hunted and pecked for a few episodes. They are shorts, so both seasons combined are probably only 40 minutes.
